Friday night after the very disappointing
loss on Thursday beating the Tigers
12 to 3 in Detroit. It is always good to
win the first game of a series.
Be great if the Mariners can take at
least one more game in the series.
It would have been nice to save
some runs for tomorrow.
Cal Raleigh had two more home
runs in the game including a
grand slam in the ninth inning.
The Mariners scored seven runs
to put the game out of hand in
the ninth. Cal now has 38 home
runs on the season and one
behind Barry Bonds for the
most home runs before the
all-star break. Two more by
Sunday he will have the record
before the all-star break.
Luis Castillo pitched into the
sixth inning however left
before getting any outs and
surrended two of his three
runs. The bullpen didn't
give up a hit in four innings.
Before the game Julio Rodriguez
announced he will not play in
the all-star game and instead
will rest up for the second half
of the season. Seattle outfielder
Randy Arozarena will take his spot.
George Kirby will start Saturday day
game for the Mariners against
the Tigers all-star pitcher Casey
Mize. This should be a good
outing on both sides.
Sunday will be the major league
draft. The Mariners have the
number three pick. Should be
a very good choice. The Mariners
are likely going to pick a college
pitcher. Who it will be we will
have to see. Go M's.
