important to get off to good start.
Saturday was game two and the
Mariners took the win in 11 innings.
With a large crowd it was playoffs
atmosphere already. Both teams
lost both of their starters so it
came down to the bullpen.
This was interesting since neither
team hit a home run in this game.
The Mariners scored first in the
second then the Astros tied in
the top of the third. Mariners
than scored in the bottom of
the third. The Astros scored a
run in the fifth and three more
in the sixth.
Carlos Vargas came in the fifth
and went one and one-thirds
innings. He struggled a bit
giving up the three innings.
Vargas has more appearances
than an Mariners relievers.
He struggled in the fifth so I
thought bringing him back
in the sixth wasn't wise. Gabe
Speier pitched for the second
game in two days so he gave
up two outs.
Matt Brash was the only reliever
for the Mariners struggling giving
up a hit and two walks in the 10th.
Cole Young had the hit that won
the game in the 11th going to
right field.
The Mariners will try to see about
trying to sweep the Astros and
lower down to two games back.
Both teams will have their all-stard
going. Hunter Brown for the Astros
Bryan Woo for the Mariners. Neither
pitcher were expected to pitch in
this series. When Astros announced
that Brown would start Sunday the
Mariners countered with Woo. This
is how important both teams think
the series is. Go M's.
