the Mariners wo the gold glove at 2nd
base. He was one of a few who had a
good season over all. He led the majors
with 16 defensive saves of runs.
Come had his ups and downs at the plate
but ended at .246 which is around the major
league average at .244 and number five as
Mariners starters and his 66 rbis was the same
Not bad for a player of 23 years old. Expect him
to get better each season.
Where he was real impressive was his batting
average with runners on base at .298 and
53 of his rbis. Only Randy Arozarena had a
better average with runners in scoring position.
The teams overall batting average was .233.
We wish Cole a long and successful career
as a Mariner. It has been a while they have
had a good second baseman. We will see
him primarily at second though occasionally
at shortstop. We likely see Brendan Donovan
there on occasion and Michael Arroyo too.
Most likely late in games he could be playing
back at second even if he starts at shortstop.
Thank you Cole and congratulations.
