Mariners Prospects 4 Thru 6

#4 George Kirby right handed pitcher drafted
in the first round by the Mariners in 2019.
Currently pitching for Everett high A team
where many of the teams top prospects are at
this year. Kirby was drafted out of Elon College
where he had a record of 19-8 in three seasons
with era of 3.30. This year his second professional
season Kirby has a record 3-2 with an era of
2.84 in seventh starts. Kirby has pitched 31.2
innings walking 7 while striking out 39. Wouldn't
be surprised to see him promoted to double-A
real soon.

#5 Noelvi Marte shortstop signed as international
player out of the Dominican Republic. Marte
is 19 years old. May follow to the Mariners a year
or two after Julio Rodriguez his fellow countryman.
Though he is playing shortstop right now he could
end up at third base or in the outfield. Currently
playing at low level A Modesto. The Mariners might
promote him to Everett high level A before the
season is over. Marte is hitting .284 with 10 home
runs and 37 home runs in 52 games. Look forward
keeping an eye on his progress.

#6 Cal Raleigh catcher playing at triple-A Tacoma.
Having outstanding season. Could see Raleigh in
Seattle after the all-star break. If not then we will
see him shortly after that. In fact he would already
be in Seattle if he were playing some other position
besides catcher along with Tom Murphy and Luis
Torrens are doing better then they were earlier.
Raleigh was the Mariners third round pick out of
Florida State in 2018. Raleigh had a 23-game
hitting streak this season tying the highest in Tacoma
history. He is currently hitting .322 with nine home
runs while driving in 36 runs while playing in 42
games. Raleigh has worked hard to become a very
good defensive catcher as well as a hitter. He bats
both left and right handed. Raleigh is expected to
be the Mariners starting catcher next season.

So this is the look at these prospects. The Mariners
take on the LA Angels at home beginning Friday night.
