Mariners Take Series Over Rangers

Starting pitching: Chris Flexen back on board
went six inning giving up one run on four hits.
Rangers scored the run in the sixth inning. He
gave up no extra base hits. 

Bullpen: Drew Steckenrider, Paul Sewald,

and Kendall Graveman are the Mariners big

three right now. Each pitched inning in this

one with only Sewald giving up a hit. 

An all-star:  Yusei Kikuchi was named to

the all-star team. The only Mariners at this

time. Have to wait to see if JP Crawford 

makes the team as injury replacement.

Luis Torrens and Shed Long Jr each had

a home run in the game. Torrens was a

three-run homer while Long's was a solo.

What was neat about Long's was he had

a home run on Canada Day and one on

Independence Day. Both are hitting .209.

Certainly not high averages but both are

hitting key hits.

The Mariners had five hits on the day 

with no one having more than one hit.

The Mariners have Monday off then

take the Yankees on a three -game series.

Justus Sheffield will start Tuesday against

his former team. We will hope going 

against the Yankees will turn things around.
