Mariners End Streaks

 Rangers 7 Mariners 3

Takeaway: The Seattle Mariners ended
a three-game winning streak along with
winning 13 games in a row against the
Rangers at home. You could say it was
bound to happen though it would have
tied a team record against a team had
the Mariners swept the Rangers.

Starting pitching: Marco Gonzales has
had a tough season especially of late.
This is his first start back after missing
one because birth of his daughter. Marco
lasted only three and a third innings.
He gave up three home runs including
two to John Hicks. If you wonder why
you may remember him he was a backup
catcher for the Mariners briefly in 2015.
He went on to play for the Tigers where
he played some first base well as catcher.
Hicks recently was called up from the
Rangers triple-A ball club.

The 3rd inning was tough because not
only did Marco give up four runs the
Mariners actually had the bases loaded
with no outs but could only get one
across the plate and it was a walk. At
that point Mariners still had a chance,
however, Marco gave up two more home
runs including Hicks second one to end
his time for the night.

The Mariners had a home run from Kyle
Seager in the fifth inning and scored another
in the eighth. The Mariners had Rafael
Montero pitched for two and two-thirds
innings. Montero who has been struggling
on the mound to say the least pitched well.
A good time to look into getting his game
back in hand. Also, Yohan Ramirez recently
called up pitched three innings. Both Montero
and Ramirez each gave up only one hit each.

Now the Mariners see Sunday 4th of July
they can win the series in afternoon game.
Nice day to go to a game for sure. Chris
Flexen who struggled in his last outing though
pitched well before then goes for the Mariners
on Sunday. We hope he gets back on track.
Go M's.
