Looking at Mariners Top Prospects

The Seattle  Mariners  top prospects
look a little  different since the trade
picking up Luis Castillo from the
Cincinnati  Reds.  Now playing against
each National  League team each year
be nice to  face them  some time soon.

#1
Harry Ford who the Mariners picked in
the first round of  the  2021 draft. Harry
is a catcher  but the emergence of Cal
Raleigh  the Mariners  may play him
elsewhere though spent this year playing
catcher. Harry ended  up  playing at low
A Modesto  where he batted .274 after
getting off to a slow start. Likely start
at Everett  this next season.
#2
Emerson Hancock the Mariners  top
pick in 2021 Likely be in the Mariners
rotation in 2023. His era was 3.75 at
Arkansas in 21 starts. Only three 98.1
innings.  Like Logan Gilbert and George
Kirby  brought him along slowly.

#3
Gabriel Gonzalez an outfielder the Mariners
signed internationally in 2021. He is only 18
so might be here in three years if he follows
Julio Rodriguez. He batted .321 this year
at Modesto.  Also, be at Everett  this coming
season.

# 4
Cole Young this year's top pick and a shortstop
certainly  got off to a  good start. He played
rookie team in Arizona where  he  batted .333
then went to  Modesto  where he hit even better
at .385 in ten games. The Mariners  may have
start next season there as well.  Most likely be
at Everett  some time during 2023.

# 5

Bryce Miller  was a fourth round pick in 2021.
He made one start at   Modesto followed by
16 in Everett.  He finished the season  in
Arkansas. Hard to  know whether  he starts
or is a reliever. He could begin this coming
year in Arkansas  or Tacoma. He could be
another Penn Murfee.

We will look at other prospects heading  into
next season. The Mariners  still loaded so
a trade or two  could end up sending others
elsewhere.  Go M's
