Mariners Monday

Hard to know how things are going
in the  Hot Stove League. The Mariners
keep  it quiet  for the most part.

On Twitter  mentioned they are interested
in an outfielder  from Japan. His name is
Masataka Yoshida. He bats left handed
and throws right. He is 29 years old and
has batted over .300 in his career in Japan.
See where things go.

Today going to  look at Mariners  six thru eight
prospects.  All three are pitcher

# 6 Walter Ford a right handed pitcher and no
relation to top prospect  Harry Ford. He was
drafted this year in round B as competitive
balance by  the Mariners. He is drafted out of
high school.  His arrival in majors is listed
2026. At a young age he throws 95-97 fast
ball. He throws slider and changeup to. His
changeup  has work to do.

#7 Taylor  Dollar  right hander drafted in
the 5th round by the Mariners in 2020.
Taylor had such an outstanding  season
in 2022 at Arkansas  he was named the
pitcher of the year in the  Texas League.
There is a chance  we will see him in
Seattle  this year. Though a starter the
Mariners  could  move him to the bullpen
since the rotation  is crowded.

#8 Lefty Adam Macko was drafted in the
7th round by the Mariners  in 2019 out of
high school. He is only 21 years old. This
year he spen the season  at high A Everett
where he started eight games on the year
with an era of 3.99. Macko struck out 60
batters in 38 and 1/3 innings. He projected
to make his debut with the Mariners in 2024.
If they don't  have  room in the rotation  being
a lefty out of the bullpen  maybe  ideal. We will
have to see.

Next  time on the Mariners  we hope for a
signing or a trade.  We look at prospects #9
and 10. They are the likely  ones to be seen
in Seattle the top ten though the Mariners have
had other ones come through. Last year Penn
Murfee was  a lower prospect.  Go M's.
