to add players on Wednesday who
had announced they are coming
through the transfer portal or had
changed commitment to Washington
from elsewhere.
The Huskies have eleven players who
either transfered or changed commitment
from Arizona where new head coach
Jedd Fisch coached last year.
One of the incoming freshman to sign
with the Huskies after committing
to Arizona was defensive back Rashawn
Clark from Garfield High School in
Seattle. At this point he is the only recruit
from Washington to sign with the
Huskies.
Another big signing was wide receiver
Jeremiah Hunter who transferred over
from the California Golden Bears. This
big since he came to Washington when
Kalen DeBoer was still coach and didn't
reenter the transfer portal. He likely
will start along with holdovers Denzel
Boston and Giles Jackson who received
a medical waiver to return to Washington
for another year.
At this point the Huskies have the 29th
ranked team in this year's class. Not
great endorsement for a team that
was in the national championship game.
The blame goes more on DeBoer than
Fisch who came in about four weeks
ago. The biggest criticism of DeBoer
is that he isn't a good recruiter where
better at coaching. I expect better at
Alabama. Wins and losses is the most
important however seeing where
the recruiting class comes in is next.
The WSU Cougars will be playing against
Mountain West schools in their schedule
though they are not in the conference along
Oregon State at this point. They may merge
with some of the schools in two years
so both schools are recognized as
independent or maybe the Pac-2. Lol
We will look into how they did on
signing day. Likely not like they did
while in the Pac-12. Be interesting to
see how the Cougars and Beavers
do next season.
