Mariners Lose Late

For most of Monday night the Mariners
and Orioles game was tight. In fact, it
looked like the Mariners may win 1-0
after Tom Murphy hit a home run in
the 5th inning but it wasn't meant to
be.

Monday's game was all bullpen by
the Mariners. Erik Swanson just
activated the day before was the
opener. He went two innings without
giving up a hit and struck out three.

Domingo Tapia who was recently
activated as well went one inning
giving up a couple hits with no runs.
He was followed by Will Vest who
went one and two-thirds innings
giving up no runs.

Drew Steckenrider who had a
rough start on the season has
pitched well since went one
and one-thirds innings giving
up no hits and striking out two.

Free agent pick up Keynan Middleton
pitched the seventh inning without
giving up a run so score still 1-0.

Anthony Misiewicz Mr. Reliable
wasn't so Monday night. You
wonder if the announcers hadn't
said or maybe we were thinking
he hadn't giving up a run on the
season. Unfortuantely he gave
up a home run with a batter on
base plus another run to put
the Orioles up 3-1.

Wyatt Mills who had made his
major league debut a day or two
before gave up a two-run homer
in the eighth inning as well making
it 5-1. Not a good sign for sure
with how the Mariners offense has
been of late.

Mitch Haniger who has been on a
tear of late when it comes to hitting
home runs had another in the bottom
of the eighth with a runner on base
making it 5-3. The Mariners couldn't
do anything more to tie the game
so final 5-3.

Outside the two home runs the
Mariners had only one other hit.
Kyle Lewis had the third hit
besides Murphy and Haniger's
home runs.

Justin Dunn will start Tuesday
night's game followed by Yusei
Kikuchi on Wednesday afternoon
game. Both Dunn and Kikuchi
each pitch close to what they did
in their last outings than the
Mariners have a good shot in
winning both games. All we
need to see is some offense as
well. Go M's.
