over the Los Angeles Angels on the
weekend though the Angels beat them
big on Saturday. The importance is
winning as many series as possible.
The Mariners shut out the Angels
2-0. Both teams had five hits on
the day. The Mariners started to
have the bottom of the batting order
starting to hit against the Angels in
this series.
Dylan Moore, JP Crawford and Luis
Torrens each had one hit in the game.
Moore drove in Seager in the fourth
inning while Torrens scored on a
sacrifice fly from Mitch Haniger
in the 5th inning.
The important thing is at least one
player from the batting order can
do something to have the Mariners
score at least one run. They can let
the upper half of the lineup do the
rest.
Justus Sheffield went six innings
giving up only two hits. He did
have three walks fortunately the
Angels didn't take advantage of
it.
Will Vest came in the seventh inning
gave up two hits along with two outs.
Lefty Anthony Misiewicz came in
threw one pitch to get final out of
the inning to stop the Angels.
Kendall Graveman and Rafael Montero
pitched the eighth and ninth innings.
Right now it looks for the Mariners
manager Scott Servais is putting in
who he thinks will get the job done
in the eighth inning. Though Montero
is called the closer he has pitched the
eighth inning as well. Whatever he is
doing the bullpen is doing a good job
more than we expected.
News came out Casey Sadler going
on the injured list and Erik Swanson
is being brought up for the second time
on the season. Not sure what is happening
but the Mariners need to do something
about these guys having arm trouble.
It could be the lack of pitching last season.
Not sure who will start on Monday night
for the Mariners. This was the spot for
Marco Gonzales before he went on the
injured list. Most likely the bullpen will
take the pitching for the most part.
The Mariners are now 16-13 heading
into the Baltimore series Monday. They
are one game behind the Oakland A's
who have gone 5-5 in their last ten games.
The Mariners don't face the A's until the
very end of May and the beginning of
June.
After the series against Baltimore the
Mariners will take on the Texas Rangers
next weekend in Arlington, Texas.
They will have next Monday off before
Taking on the LA Dodgers in a two-game
series before returning home to play
Cleveland.
We hope success for the Mariners especially
against the Orioles and Rangers as they
are both on the bottoms of their divisions.
Go M's.
