Major League Baseball Begins

Finally we get to see some baseball.
A long time coming for sure. Every
other season we would have had
the all-star game and the trading
deadline coming up.

The New York Yankees play against
the Washington Nationals to start
the season later today.

The Seattle Mariners start the
season on Friday against the
Astros in Houston.

News came out while the
Mariners had their final
intrasquad game on Wednesday
that catcher will be going on
the injured list to start the season
so Austin Nola will show us how
he catches.

Last year Nola primarily played
first base along with some time
at second and a little at third.
He was one of the Mariners
most consistent hitters during
the second half.

During the TV broadcast of the
intrasquad game manager Scott
Service said that Jake Fraley had
struggled with the bat during
summer camp but was expected
to play a lot during the season.
I consider that good news.

In a few hours we will know who
makes the 30-man roster to start
the season. The extra position
players and the bullpen will be
the most interesting to find out.
