Seattle Mariners Pick Up Veteran Reliever

The Seattle Mariners picked up veteran
reliever Bryan Shaw released recently
by the Colorado Rockies on Monday.

Whether Shaw will be on the opening
day roster announced on Wednesday
we will have to see.

The Mariners were needing to add
another reliever to the sixty-man
roster because of the injury to Gerson
Bautista who was hurt during summer
camp.

It is not sure how long Bautista will be
out but most likely for this season anyway.
Bautista was competing for one of the
reliever spots in the bullpen.

Bryan Shaw didn't have a great 2019
season for the Rockies with an era of
5.38, however, his veteran presence
may help the Mariners.

Though the Mariners are rebuilding it
is still nice to have veterans around.
How long Shaw will be with the
Mariners we will see but he is another
body to help out.

The bullpen right now is the questionable
part of the team. It sounds according to
general manager Jerry Dipoto they will
go with 11 relievers. When the cutdown
to 28 man roster in two weeks the Mariners
will go with 9 relievers then 8 when going
to a 26-man roster.
