Beavers Saturday night 27-21. At kick off we
found out redshirt freshman Dylan Morris from
nearby Graham was the opening game starter at
quarterback. Head coach Jimmy Lake didn't
come to let us know who the starter would be.
Disaster almost happened at the end of the first
series of the game. Oregon State Beavers stopped
the Huskies on their 40 yard line. Washington had
to punt and the snap went way of the head of the
Huskies punter when trying to retrieve the Beavers
were able to pick it up and score a touchdown.
Fortunately the Huskies were able to come down
in the next possession to score. The game was tight
throughout. In fact in the second half with 1:45 left
in the game the Huskies kicked a field goal. The only
scoring done in the second half.
The Huskies and Beavers both ran the ball extremely
well. The Huskies had 270 yards on the ground while
the Beavers had 167. The main difference was the
Beavers had better field position through most of the
game.
The Washington State Cougars were beaten 43-29
by the Oregon Ducks. The Cougars scored early
so things looked good though the game was close
at half time Cougars 19 Ducks 14.
The Ducks dominated the Cougars in the second
half. They scored 22 points in the 4th quarter after
getting a touchdown in the third quarter. The Cougars
scored ten points in the fourth quarter but it was to
little to late.
Oregon leads the north division of the Pac-12 with
a 2-0 record while the Cougars are 1-1. The Cougars
will be on the road playing at night against the Stanford
Cardinal. The Cardinal are 0-2 losing to Oregon and
Colorado.
Today the Seattle Seahawks have afternoon game on
the road in LA against the Rams. Be back later with
the results and takeaways from that game.
