Washington Men's Basketball Open Season

The Washington Huskies men's basketball team
finally were able to begin the season on Sunday.
The unfortunate part they were blown out by #2
ranked Baylor 86-52.

We knew going into the game three players from
last season would start but the other two were a
little in question. The Huskies started Quad Green
at point guard with Jamal Bey and transfer Erik
Stevenson in the background with Nate Roberts
and Hameir Wright underneath.

The Huskies got off to a rough start being down
25-5 at the half way mark of the first half. They
did get get back in the game being down by 12
points at half time. The trouble was Baylor
ran off on a 12-3 run at the beginning of the
second half. Huskies were never in the game
again.

The Huskies will be playing Utah on Thursday
in Salt Lake City. The Utah Utes haven't played
a game yet so will give the Huskies an advantage
in that regard.

At least not yet the Huskies don't have a go to
player on offense when they get behind. RaeQuan
Battle led the Huskies with ten points coming off
the bench. He is probably the closest the Huskies
have to rely on offense. Erik Stevenson a transfer
from Wichita State could be the guy as well. He
had eight points but all in the first half.

Let you know how the Huskies do on Thursday.
Give a little update after each game.
