Seahawks Shutout Vikings

Sunday afternoon the Seattle Seahawks
shutout the Minnesota Vikings 26-0.
The first quarter the Seahawks didn't
score any points.

The second quarter the Seahawks kicked
two field goals and Earnest Jones intercepted a pass that went 85 yards. The Vikings
rookie quarterback Max Brosmer threw
a ball that he shouldn't have. He should
have taken the sack instead then the
Vikings would have kicked a field goal.
In all he threw four interceptions. As
we know Sam Darnold did the same
thing not long ago and the Seahawks
didn't win either.

In all Brosmer completed 19 of 30 for
126. Darnold didn't do much better
completing 14 of 26 for 128 yards.
He threw no touchdowns.

The last Seahawks scored happened
when running back Zach Charbonnet
ran in for 17 yards. This was after the
Seahawks got a first down for the only
time they tried on 4th down. The other
ones they went and scored field goals.

Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet
split about 50 per cent. Zach had 14
carries while Walker had 13. Walker had
56 yards while Zach had t2. Walker had
a longer run than Zach though he scored
only.  Former Washington Huskies Myles
Gaskin had three carries late in the
game.

The Rams lost to the Panthers on the
road by a field goal so the Seahawks
and Rams are tied for the division.
If the Seahawks beat the Rams at the
end of the season along with their
other remaining games the Seahawks
will win the division.  The 49ers are
still a half game being both teams.
Seahawks play the Falcons next
Sunday. Unfortunately Michael Penix
Jr. Is out for the Falcons the rest
if the season. Go Hawks!

Washington Huskies Lose At Home

For the second time the Washington
Huskies football team lost at home
this season. Earlier they lost to
Ohio State then Saturday afternoon
to archival Oregon Ducks 26-14.

The offense of the Huskies didn't
play well. The Ducks were able to
give Huskies quarterback Desmond
Williams Jr. trouble. The first two
times the Huskies had the ball
Williams was sacked giving the
ball back to Oregon. The Huskies
were able to stop the Ducks allowing
them to kick field goals.

Denzel Boston was finally able play
and he had two touchdowns the
only scores they had.  The second
touchdown was around nine minutes
to go to put the Huskies within
five points.

At the 7:55 Ducks quarterback Dante
Moore  was able to find a receiver
in the field who was able to outrun
the Huskies defenders and that iced
the game since the Huskies would
have to score two touchdowns to
win.

The Ducks have now won 12 games
on the road in a row.  They will play
in the National  championship series.
They could have a bye in the first
round. Interesting they won't play
in the Big Ten championship game.

As far as both teams we will have
to wait to see when the Ducks play
in the championship series and who
the Huskies play in a bowl game.
Go Dawgs!

Huskies Lose To Colorado On the Road

Didn't  see on the initial  schedule  the
Huskies went to Pittsburgh  to  play
Colorado. The Buffaloes  are a good
team. They are now 7-0.

The Huskies  are now 5-2. The
Buffaloes  got off to a 7-0 run
and the Huskies never got into
the game. Wesley Yates and
Zoom Diallo, neither had a good
game.  Wesley  was 2 of 8 from
the field while Diallo went 1 of
8.

Quimari Peterson  led with 18
points whilev he only shot
six of eighteen from the floor.
Desmond Claude is now playing
after starting the season with
injuries  had 14 points shooting
6 of 18.

We see if the Huskies  have
another game this weekend
before  facing the  UCLA
Bruins at home next Wednesday.
Go Dawgs!

Preview Minnesota Vikings at Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks are 11.5
favorites over the Vikings at Lumen
Field.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback
JJ McCarthy isn't expected to
play Sunday since he is in concussion
protocol.Max Brosmer an undrafted
rookie out of University of Minnesota.
He spent five years at New Hampshire
including one year with a torn ACL
before going to Minnesota last year.
According to the Vikings Brosmer
has a quicker release than McCarthy
so we will see how he does. The
Seahawks will see what they do with
surprises with Brosmer.

The Vikings have 4-7 record and
have a better record on the road
being 3-3.  Seahawks QB Sam
Darnold was QB last season so
we will see how he does against
his old team.

The Minnesota Vikings average
4.7 yards on the ground so they
will see how they can do against
the Seahawks starting out.  The
Seahawks defense give up 3.8
yards on the ground. We are sure
the Seahawks will try making
Brosmer throw the ball first by
stopping the run. It will start being
cat and mouse game.

Aaron Jones Sr.  is the Vikings
starting running back on record
however he has played in seven
games this season although he
has averaged 4.9 yards  a carry.
Jordan Mason had most of the
carries when Jones was out.
He has 531 yards on 116 carries.
He is a averaging 4.6 a carry.
Likely to see both guys playing.

Justin Jefferson is the Vikings top
receiver. He is having somewhat
down year more from who is
quarterbacking. We hope he
doesn't put it into the Seahawks.
Currently he has 60 catches for
795 yards and only two touchdowns.
Last year he had 1533 yards and 10
touchdowns.

We look forward to the Seahawks
adding another win. It is important
that the defense is high intensity.
The offense gets off to a good
start. A two touchdown lead at
least heading into the 4th quarter.
Go Hawks.

Washington Huskies Beat Nevada

Nevada has had a good team. Heading
into Thanksgiving meeting the Wolf
Pack had won six of seven games.

The Huskies led by six at halftime
however outscored the Wolf Pack
by eleven in the second half.

Final Huskies 83 Nevada 66

The difference in the game the
Huskies made 11 more shots from
the foul line while taking 13 more
shots. The Huskies had ten more
defensive rebounds than Nevada.

The Huskies went with an 8 man
rotation. The Huskies had four
players in double figures. Wesley
Yates lll led with 25 points. He didn't
shoot well going 5 of 13 and four
were three pointers. He did well
making 11 of 13 from the foul line.

Zoom Diallo was second with 19
points shooting five of nine. He to
went to the foul line nine times
and making right. Yates and Diallo
will be keys to the Huskies season.
Center Francke Kepnang couldn't be
stopped going six for six from the
field as well as three free throws.
Quimari Peterson had 13 points.

Freshman JJ Mandaquit who began
the season starting played 22 minutes
off the bench. He had four points going
one hundred percent at the foul line.
Desmond Claude who began the season
on the injured list only 2 points.  He
should eventually should make a difference.

The Huskies are still without freshman
Hans Steinbach who is injured who
began as a good player upfront and
Bryson Tucker injured too.  The Huskies
should be good with a healthy group.

The Huskies are playing Colorado today.
 Go Dawgs!

Preview: Oregon at Washington Football

The Oregon Ducks are a 6.5 favorites
on Saturday's game against the Huskies.
The Ducks have only one loss on the
season to Ohio State who beat the
Huskies too.

The Huskies have won three of the
last four games against the  Ducks.
All three wins were by three points
with Michael Penix Jr. as quarterback.
Last year they lost 49-21. This was
the first start for Desmond Williams Jr.
as a freshman.  Jedd Fisch had to
rebuild the team after former coach
Kalen DeBoer  moved on to Alabama
after the Huskies lost to Michigan
in the national championship game.

Not only is Desmond Williams Jr.
the starting quarterback for the
Huskies for the whole season
the Huskies have several freshman
playing on the offense. The future
looks bright at this time.

The Ducks are ranked #7 so they
dominate their opponent. On the
offense they score 39.27 points
a game while giving up 14.91.

The Ducks run 228.6 yards a game
while the opponent do 103.0. The
Huskies hopefully will have a more
healthy Jonah Coleman though
Adam Mohammed and Jordan
Washington have done a good job
in his place.

The Ducks average 243 yards a game
which is about average these days in
college football however with a great
running game don't need a higher
passing. On defense they give up
only 145.72 yards a game. Desmond
Williams Jr. will have to pass well as
running to have the Huskies to win.

Dante Moore is Oregon's starting
quarterback. He was the Ducks
backup QB last year after being
at UCLA. He didn't play a lot so
he was redshirted. Dante completes
72.89% of his  passes. He has
thrown 23 touchdown passes
while only six interceptions in
eleven games. Dante isn't used
in the running game as Williams
does for the Huskies. He has 50
carries coming into this game.
He averages 16.36 yards a game
and has no touchdowns.

Noah Whittington is the Ducks
starting running back though
they use two others some as
well. Noah averages 80.78 yards
game and has six touchdowns.
Jordan Davison second in running
attempts is used a lot in the red
zone and has 13 touchdowns.
He averages 46.45 yards a game
Dierre Hill Jr. a freshman is averaging
41.09 yards a game and has four
touchdowns.

The Ducks starting tight end Kenyon
Sadiq  leads in catches, yardage and
you touchdowns.  He has 36 catches,
479 yards and eight touchdowns.
Fellow tight end Jamari Johnson
is sixth in catches with 20 and
has only one touchdown.

One of the split ends freshman
Dakorian Moore is second with
28 catches and yardage with
443 along with tied with Malik
Benson in third with three tds.
Benson is third in receptions
with 26 and yardage at 424.
Slot receiver Gary Bryant Jr
is next with 25 catches and
is second with 4 touchdowns.

The Ducks defense has 19
sacks on the season. Outside
linebacker Teitum Tuioti leads
with five and a half sacks. He
is third with 52 tackles. DE
Matayo Uiagalelei is second
with five sacks. He is tied for
10th with 25 tackles.

The Ducks say they will have
new flashy uniforms ask the
Huskies. I have to see since
in my opinion they are all ugly.
The Ducks are color blind.

The Huskies hope to have
Jonah Coleman and Denzel
Boston in this final home
game and regular season.
We hope so since this should
be Coleman's last game in
Husky Stadium.  Thanks
for being in a Husky uniform.
Go Dawgs!

The Huskies men's basketball
team take on Nevada this
Thursday afternoon. Go Dawgs!

Michigan Beats Gonzaga Big Time

The Michigan Wolverines got off to a
fast start on Gonzaga on Wednesday
evening and never slowed down
beating them 101-61.

The Zags looked like a normal team
at best against the Wolverines.  When
March Madness comes the Zags might
need to be better we will have to see.
This is there only loss on the season
and the Wolverines did it to the other
teams in this tournament.

Not only the score shows the dominance
Graham Ike the Zags top player on the
season had one point at the frew throw
line and went 0-9 on the floor. Also the
top rebounder as well didn't have a
rebound at all. The Wolverines defense
took him right out. See how he bounces
back in coming games.

The Zags next game will be on December
5th against Kentucky. The Zags are higher
ranked however we will see how they
bounce back.  Go Zags!

Seton Hall Beats Cougars

In the consolation game of the Maui
Invitation the Cougars lost to Seton
Hall Wednesday afternoon.

Final  Seton Hall 75 WSU 61

The Seton Hall Pirates went on a 13 point run
early on in the game and the Cougars
couldn't recover.  The Pirates led by ten
at half time and the Cougars couldn't get
any closer.

The Pirates were led by senior guard
AJ Staton-McCray a transfer from
Miami. He had 20 points and made 8
of 14 shots including 3 of 6 in 3 point
shots. He was one of four Pirates
who scored in double figures.

The Cougars had three players in
double figures. They were led by
Rihards Vavers with 17 points.
Ace Glass was second with 15
after having 60 points last night.
ND Okafor had 12 points. For
success the Cougars need those
three to be consistent on the floor

The Cougars will play next Tuesday
against Bradley who beat Liberty
today 74-64. They are 4-4 on the
season.
Go Cougs!
.

Goozaga Wins Again Tuesday Night

The Gonzaga Bulldogs beat Big Ten
opponent Maryland easily on Tuesday
night.

The Zags outscored the Terrapins
in the first half by 15 points however
poured it on more in the second half
by outscoring by 24 points. The Zags
could have scored 24 points in the
second half and won by 10.

Final.  Gonzaga 100 Maryland 61

Braden Huff lead the Zags with
20 points. Emmanuel Innocent
had 15 off the bench. Steele Venters
had 14 points in just 15 minutes off
the bench. Graham Ike who has been
instrumental all season only had
13 points. Maryland had three in double
figures however the most equaled Venters
total of 14.

Maryland struggled on the field while
the Zags shot at 56.4 percent clip
and made 17 more shots while taking
nine more. Also better behind the
3 point line.

The Zags are now 7-0. They take on
7th ranked Michigan tonight. This
won't be an easy for Gonzaga.
Go Zags!

Washington State Cougars Men's Loss

Tuesday the WSU men's basketball
team lost a close game to Arizona
State Tuesday night in the semifinals
of the Maui Classic.

The Cougars led the first half by
six points however the Sun Devils
turned the table the second half
though stayed close.

Freshman Ace Glass making his
first start after scoring 26 on
Monday night. He had a great
game scoring  40 points the most
by a Cougar freshman ever.
Ace was 9-14 from the floor
including 6 of 9 in 3 pointers.
He made 16 of 18 from the
foul line. I have the feeling the
success the Cougars have the
rest of the way he will be in
the mix.

Arizona State will play Southern
Cal in the championship game
tonight. The Cougars will play
Seton Hall who the Trojans
beat. Go Cougs!

Washington State Come From Behind in MB

The Cougars had to come from behind
to best a smaller school in the second
half in Hawaii against Chaminade.

Final  WSU 90 Chaminade 85

The Cougars had to make up from
being behind by 20 points to win.

The reason the Cougars won was
by the bench. The only players to
score in double figures for the Cougars
was three off the bench. They actually
played more minutes than three of
the Cougars starters.

Aaron Glass known as Ace  a freshman
guard led with 26 points. He was 8 of
15 off the bench. The previous game he
had 20 points. Likely to see a lot of him
Rihards Vavers who has had to overcome
injuries scored 25 points including 7 of
12 behind the 3pt line which were all
his field goals. These two could make
a big difference in how the Cougs play
the rest of the way.

Eermeli Yalaho the third member scored
ten points and had nine rebounds to.
A junior made 3 of 5 from the field and
made all four of his free throws.

The Cougars  are now 3-3 and take on
Arizona State in a couple hours. See
how these three and the Cougars fair
against the Sun Devils. Go Cougs!

Gonzaga Beat Alabama In Las Vegas

The Zags played a good game against
Alabama another high ranked team.
Much of the game the score was close.
In the midpoint Alabama went on a good
run however Gonzaga went a good run
to win the game. The Zags were up by
ten points with one minute to go.

Final Gonzaga 95 Alabama 85

Very impressed by the Zags as they
had to retool much of the team after
last season. They had five players
score in double figures. They had
dependable Graham Ike with 21
points and 11 rebounds.  Tyrone Grant-
Foster had 21 points as well. Braden
Huff had 18.

Both shot well from the field though
both could have done better behind
the three point line. Gonzaga had ten
more points in the paint which was
the difference in the game.

The Zags play Maryland tomorrow night.
Right now they are playing UNLV.  The
Terripins are behind by six in the first
half.

Go Zags!

Seahawks Win Sunday

The first quarter both the Seahawks and
Titans only had field goal.  Sam Darnold
threw a touchdown pass of 64 yards to
Jaxson Smith-Njigba at the 11:10 mark
of the second quarter.  The Seahawks
had two field goals to make it 16-3
at half time.

In the third quarter both the Seahawks
and Titans had two touchdowns. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had his second TD of the afternoon for 13 yards.  The Seahawks were able to get the ball back however they had punt as well and unfortunately the special
teams didn't do the job. The Titans had a
90 yard touchdown. That made it 23-10
Seahawks.

At the 6:40 mark of the 3rd quarter  Zach
Charbonnet had a 5 yard run. He had only
six carriers on the day. Kenneth Walker lll
led the Seahawks with 11 carries for 71
yards. He was second on the team with
three catches for 30 yards. Jaxon Smith-Njigba led with  eight catches for over
one hundred yards which he is doing regularly. Currently he is third in catches
and yardage Jaxon is the only one over
1000 yards.Walker was questionable
before the game.

Can Ward had a six yard run at 1:18 remain
in the 3rd quarter making it 30-17. Neither
team scored in the 4th quarter until Ward
threw a one yard pass with 43 second
remaining in the game.  It made it
interesting but about it. Now the Seahawks
are 8-3.  The Los Angeles Rams play
Tampa Bay Sunday night. See if the
Rams can win and keep the lead.
Go Hawks.

Huskies Beat Up On Bruins

The Huskies have had some trouble
playing on the road this season but
against the Bruins they looked like
they have been playing at home.

The Bruins haven't had a good season.
It included firing their head coach and
both coordinators. So Huskies did what
they must on a team that is not having
a good season.

Final Washington 48 Bruins 14

The Huskies got off to a slow start
offensively not able to score until the
end of the first quarter. They end up
rolling scoring 17 points in the second
half. Quarterback Williams ran for
a touchdown then they had a field goal
followed by a force fumble by their defense.

After having a 20-0  lead at half time the
Huskies had two more touchdowns with
Williams rushing again and throwing one.
The Bruins finally got on the board with
a touchdown near the end of the third
quarter.

The 4th quarter the Huskies marched
down and Jonah Coleman scored on
a one yard touchdown. After missing
last week Coleman had only four
carries. Hopefully he will be ready for
the Oregon Ducks next week in the
final regular season game.

The Huskies were able to stop the
Bruins on three downs on their next
possession. Unfortunately the Bruins
forced a fumble by the special teams
to score a touchdown.

The Huskies though came back which
included a 24 yard touchdown pass.
That ended the scoring for the night.

Next week the Huskies play Oregon
at home. It will be another exciting
rival game. The Huskies have done
well at home against the Ducks.
Go Dawgs!

Preview Seahawks at Tennessee Titans

The Seahawks after the worst game of
the season in a loss at the Rams are
now on the road against the Titans
in Nashville.

The Seahawks are favored by 13
points as the Titans are having a
very poor season. Tyler Lockett
who started the season with them
after being released by the Seahawks.
He asked the Titans for his release
and now with Pete Carroll and the
Last Vegas Raiders.

The Titans have a 1-9 record on the
season. The Titans are last in the
NFL in rushing the ball and 27th
in overall offense. They are 24th
in the league in yards allowed.

Kenneth Walker III is questionable
at running back  for the Seahawks.
There is a chance he might play
though the Seahawks will go with
their other two running backs.
We won't know for sure until
just before kickoff.

Can Ward former WSU Quarterback
Is the Titans starting quarterback
after being drafted number one
in last draft. He has completed
58.4 of his passes for 1954 yards.
He has only six touchdowns in
ten games and has six interceptions
as well. He is ranked 23rd in passing
yards though six touchdowns throw
is 32nd in the league.

Tony Pollard is in his second year
with the Titans as their starting
running back. He is rushing just
over 50 yards a game after rushing
over a thousand last year.

Tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo has
the most catches with 32 and yards
of 337 yards however no touchdowns.
Fellow tight end Gunnar Helm is third
with 24 catches and one touchdown.

Wide receiver Elic Ayomanor is second
in catches with 28 receptions and yards
with 334 and leads with two touchdowns.
Chimere Dike is 4th  in catches with 24.
He has 1 touchdown pass.

The Way the Seahawks defense has
been playing don't expect a lot a
a points from the Titans. Go Hawks!

Cougars Lose Late Again

WSU had another disappointing loss.
Again for the third time this season
they lost to a ranked team that was
favored against them. The key is
what can the team do to overcome
a game that they could or should
have won. It can be behind their
minds what will take for us to win.

Final James Madison 24 WSU 20

The three touchdowns including a
late one in the 4th quarter were
long touchdowns. Outside of that
the defense did a good job. Some
times  the good teams find a way to
win. If the Cougars can continue
building their team they can be a
good one in the new Pac-12.

Pretty sure James Madison has
a talented team or they won't
be ranked in the top 25.

The Cougars are home for their
final game against rival Oregon
State  Beavers next Saturday after
noon.  The Cougars have a 5-6
record so a must win to play in
a bowl game.  Go Cougs!

Preview Washington State At James Madison

The Cougars have a 5-5 record on the
season however they are 1-4 on the
road. This week they play at James
Madison who are favored by 13.5
points.

The road record is not totally broken
since they lost to high ranked Ole Miss
by three  points and Virginia by two.
They actually had a good lead at Virginia
before losing at the end.

James Madison is 9-1 overall and 7-0
in SBC East. They are 4-0 at home too.
Why the 13.5 favorites I expect.

James Madison average 37.10 points
a game and their defense gives up
16.20 per game.  They are a running
team average 241.60 per game. They
are good defense against the run at
89.10 yards. Passing game they throw
for 215.7 yards a game while giving up
168 yards. Expect the Cougars seeing
James Madison running the ball to
begin with.tqhlalm

Alonza Barnett III a junior is JM
starting  quarterback. Alonza
completes 61.63% of his passes.
Has 16 touchdown passes and only
5 interceptions. Running the ball
Alonza is second in carries and
yardage. He is tops in touchdowns
with 12 on the ground.

Junior Wayne Knight is the starting
running back. He averaged 84 yards
a game and has seven touchdowns.
Senior Jordan Fuller a transfer from
Holy Cross is  number two back
averaging  51.88 yards a game.
He has five touchdowns.  They have
other backs with attempts too.

Wayne Knight is valuable in the
passing game too. He is  number
one in catches with 35 and number
two with 368 yards and has one
touchdown catch. Junior wide
receiver Landen Ellis is second
in catches and number one in
yardage 532 yards and touchdowns
with five.

Senior Jaylan Sanchez a transfer
from Villanova is third in catches
with 22 and 4th in yardage has
one touchdown. Another senior
is Nick DeGennaro a transfer
from Richmond. Is 4th in catches
with 17 however is third in yardage
and second with 4 touchdowns.
They have others who have catches
with just over one catch per game
or under one.

Now we have to see whether the
Cougars play up again to their
opponent. Go Cougs.

Preview Washington Huskies Football at UCLA

The Washington Huskies take on the
UCLA Bruins for the first time since
coming to the Big Ten Conference.
The Huskies are a 10.5 favorite in the
game. The game takes place at the
Rose Bowl.

News is that Jonah Coleman who
didn't play against Purdue is expected
to play. Status of Tuesday November 18
they are not sure whether wide receiver
Denzel Boston will be able to play.

Last year the Huskies best the Bruins
31-19 at Huskies Stadium. The last time
they played at the Rose Bowl was September
30, 2022 when the Bruins won 40-32.

This year the Bruins have an overall record
of 3-7 and are 3-4 in Big Ten. The Bruins
are averaging 19.4 points a game while
giving up 32.4 points a game.

The Bruins are averaging 122 yards on
the ground while they passing 202.7 yards
in the air.  What is making why they are
giving up so many points the defense is
giving up 244 yards on the ground and
187 in the air.  This means that if Jonah
Coleman is back he should have a big
game in the Rose Bowl. The other Huskies
running backs should have a big day too.
The Huskies should start out running the
ball which will setup the pass.

The UCLA Bruins quarterback is Nico
Imaleava a sophomore who transferred
from Tennessee. He has completed 63.7
percent of his passes. He has thrown 259
passes completing 165.  Nico has 12 Tds
and 7 interceptions. Nico leads the Bruins
in rushing attempts as well as yardage.
96 attempts for 474 yards and four touchdowns.

Jaivian Thomas a sophomore who transferred  is second in attempts
81 carries for 294 yards.  Jalen
Berger a senior is third in carries
and Anthony Woods is fourth.

The Bruins have four wide receivers
with at least 20 catches. Sophomore
Kwazi Gilmer leads with 37 catches
for 432 yards and three touchdowns.
Rico Flores Jr. has 25 catches for 271
yards but no touchdowns. Number three
is Mikey Matthews a transfer from
California with 23 catches for 272 yards
and a touchdown. Titus Mokiao-Atimalala
has 20 catches however leads with 12.6
yards per catch and has three touchdowns.

The Huskies success this season has been
at home however they are 2-2 on the road
which is better than last year. The Bruins
have struggled at home 2-3 so we hope
to see that again. Go Dawgs!

WSU Cougars Beat Southern Utah

The Cougars beat the Thunderbirds
as expected 98-74.

The Cougars had 48 points inside. They
took 12 more shots and made 12 more
more than the Thunderbirds the exact difference in the game. The Cougars
shot 57.4%  compared to 48.2 for the
Thunderbirds which are both healthy
percentages.

The Cougars outscored the Thunderbirds
by 14 in the first half and 10 in the second.
The Cougars had four players score in
double figures. They were led by ND Okafor
with 27 points. This is his highest output
since coming to WSU.  He was 6-6 in the
first half shooting and 12 of 24 overall.
The Cougars success may have Okafor
in the middle of it all.  The Cougars are
now 2-3 on the season. Go Cougs!

Washington Huskies Men Win In Overtime

For most of the night the Washington Huskies were behind then they tied in regulation
then won in second overtime.

Final Huskies 99 Southern 33

The Huskies were shorthanded so it
was a tough night. A team like Southern
wanted to show that they belong.
While ahead they were able to get
to balls ahead of the Huskies.

Freshman Hannes Steinbach was out
with an injured ankle. The Huskies had
only nine healthy players. Wesley Yates
led the Huskies for the second game
in a row with 23. In all they had four
players in double figures.

Quimari Peterson who has been coming
off the bench played 50 minutes in this
one with players out. He had 15 points.

Desmond Claude who had been hurt
played  35 minutes coming off the
bench. He scored 20 points.

The Huskies I am sure happy not to
play again until Thanksgiving so guys
will get healthy. Go Dawgs!

Look at Washington, Washington State and Gonzaga Men's Basketball

Washington Huskies are off to a good
start in non-league men's basketball
action with a 3-1 record. The only loss
is against Baylor

The Huskies face Southern who have
a 2-2 record on Tuesday. The two losses have been to Arkansas and Marquette who are
on the same level as the Huskies.
They have won their last two games
however not to the same level as
the Huskies.  The Huskies have one
more game in November on Thursday
the 27th against Nevada at home.
Happens to be Thanksgiving.

The  WSU Cougars  men's have two
games remaining in November as well.
The Cougars are getting off to a
rough start with a 1-3 including a loss
to the Huskies last Friday 81-69.
The  Cougars had a roster turnover
both in graduation and the transfer
portal so mostly new guys trying to
get to know each other.

On Wednesday they play home to
Southern Utah.  The Thunderbirds
have a 1-4 record.  Monday night
they lost to Gonzaga 122-50 in
Spokane.  The Zags had a 32 point
lead at halftime however the second
half was worse for the Thunderbirds
as the Zags scored 40 more points than them. This allowed the Zags to play six
players off the bench for at least 15
minutes.

The final game for the Cougars in
November will be next Monday.
The game will be against Chaminade.
All know about them is they are NCAA
division 2 and in Hawaii where the
game will be played.

The Zags have two games remaining
in November as well.  The two games
will take place MGM resort in Nevada.
The first one will be Monday against
11th ranked Alabama. That should be
a great game  to watch.  They put their
5-0 record on the line.  The second
game will be on Tuest against Maryland.
Go Zags!

News Expect Naylor To Return

Sunday word came out that Josh
Naylor is going to sign a five year
deal with the Seattle Mariners.

Naylor was a major player when
they traded for him a week before
the deadline from Arizona. He was
a major contributor for the Mariners
making the playoffs and almost
getting into the World Series.

The Mariners made him a priority
as they don't have a first baseman
in their minor league system to
come up yet. Had they not signed
him they would have had to sign
another free agent to play first
base or trade for one.

As the saying goes it is best to go
with who you know then try to
find someone who are not sure of.

Naylor became a strong member
in the middle of the lineup as soon
as he arrived.  He plays solid first
base too. Though he can hit home
runs he can hit a lot of doubles as
well. Also he likes hitting in T-Mobile
Park as well. We haven't found a lot
in the that category.

Naylor is 28 years old so five years
seems like the right amount of years
for him and the Mariners.

Naylor sees to be a leader and hits
the way the team wants the everyday
lineup to do so. I hope Julio can
follow suit and hit more the other
way. I expect Cal will do the same.

Cal hitting 60 home runs on the season
we can count on pitchers continue
throwing him different. If he can hit
more doubles that will bring his batting
up and driving in more key runs will
help.

Next on the list will the Mariners pursue
Jorge Polanco and or Eugenio Suarez
or both. Polanco showed his value
though a bit inconsistent he did do quite
well when the Mariners needed him.

Suarez didn't hit well at T-Mobile Park
on his return. He is an assit in the
locker room however is that enough.
Do the Mariners want to keep looking
at Ben Williamson for third base.
I believe he can improve at the plate
especially with Naylor returning.  They
seem to be similar type hitters though
Williamson hits right handed instead of
left handed. We know he is playing third.

Polanco will be an assit being dh against
righties and playing second base against
lefties as Cole Young looks to improve.
We have to remember  he is still young of
age.

See what the Mariners do next. Enjoy
the Hot Stove League.

Rams Beat Seahawks Again

The Seahawks are 0-5  now while facing
Matthew Stafford at quarterback
as a Ram.

It was the Seahawks worst game of the
season and Sam Darnold continues
to have trouble against the Rams.
Darnold threw four interceptions which
didn't help matters.

The Seahawks were in the red zone
three times in the first half and had
to settle for three field goals. They were
down 14-9 at half time.

The final score was Rams 21 Seahawks 19

The Seahawks stop the Rams under two
minutes so had a chance to win anyway.
The Rams punter was able to kick
the ball inside the one yard line to make
it difficult on them. The Seahawks wasted
some time on the clock as. In the end though
Kicker Jason Myers went for a 62 yard
field goal. It looked like it was long enough
however the ball went way to the right
though so the Seahawks lost.

Next week the Seahawks go to Tennessee
where the Titans have had a very good
season. The Seahawks have done well
on the road so we hope they are able
to bounce back.  Go Hawks!

WSU Cougars Win At Home

Saturday evening the Cougars beat
Louisiana Tech easily 28-3.

The Cougars first score was almost
midway of the first quarter when
quarterback Zevi Eckhaus threw
a 23 yard touchdown pass to wide
receiver Josh Meredith.

Eckhaus had ran for a touchdown run
at 12:11 of the second quarter. LA
Tech had a field goal to end the first
half. There was no scoring in the third
quarter.

Eckhaus had another touchdown run
of one yard early on in the 4th quarter.
Running back Kirby Vorhees ran for
a touchdown for l9 yards to put icing
on the win. He led the Cougars with
76 yards followed by Eckhaus 56 yards.

Highlights is LA Tech Bulldogs use
two quarterbacks. Evan Bullock mainly
a throwing quarterback completed  four
of ten passes for 36 yards. The other
is Trey Kukuk who is more run first.
He led the Bulldogs with nine carries
for 39 yards. Throwing he completed
five of eight for 24 yards. For a team
that throwing is their game they only
had 60 yards total.

Another key the Cougars had the ball
just over ten more minutes than the
Bulldogs. They carried the ball on the
ground 39 times compared to throwing
the ball 25 times.

The Cougars defense only allowed three
first downs on eleven tries on third downs.
They had three sacks while the offense
wasn't sacked at all. Eckhaus being mobile
ran out of the pocket to pass several times
though the offensive line did a good job
protecting him when he stayed in the
pocket.

Next Saturday the Cougars play at James
Madison and final regular season at
home the following Saturday at home
against Oregon State where they hope
to return the favor after losing at Corvallis.
Go Cougs!

Washington Roll Over Purdue

The Washington Huskies rolled over
Purdue though it did take them a
little while to score.

Adam Mohammed scored first
at 3:30  left in the first quarter on
a one run yard touchdown. He
scored another one yard touchdown
with just over nine minutes left in
the second quarter. The Huskies
scored a third time two minutes
when Jordan Washington ran for
a 68 yard touchdown run. Adam
had his final touchdown for five
yards right before the end of the
first half.

In the third quarter Desmond Williams Jr
threw a couple touchdown passes.
Purdue kicked a field goal between
the Huskies scores.  Huskies defense
did so well they stopped Purdue a
couple times on 4th down and turned
over to the offense.

At the end of the third quarter the
Huskies were leading  42-3. Purdue
kicked a field goal and touchdown
against the Huskies reserves.  The
Huskies got a final touchdown
when backup quarterback Kai Horton
faked a handoff and ran into the
end zone for a two yard run to make
the final Washington 49 Purdue 13

The Huskies defense did a good
job stopping the Boilamakers running
game outside of a couple long runs.
In all Purdue had 100 yards on the
ground.

The Huskies have two games remaining
on the regular season. Next Saturday
they play UCLA Bruins on the road and
end it the following Saturday at home
against Oregon. Go Dawgs!

The Huskies are 4-3 in Big Ten
Conference play and tied in seventh
place with three other teams.

Zags and Huskies Both Win

Gonzaga continues to roll along
beating Arizona State in the
road 77-65.

The Zags went on a ten point
run in the middle of the first
half which was the difference in
the game. Before that run it was a
very close game. In fact ASU
had an early lead.

Again Graham Ike was the Zags
leading scorer with 20 points and
second in rebounding with nine.
Tyon Grant-Foster was second
with  14 points coming off the
bench and led with 12 rebounds.
Braden Huff had 11 points. Adam
Miller who transferred to Gonzaga
from ASU had ten points.  The Zags
shot 43 percent from the field whikr
ASU shot 36 per cent. Go Zags!

Washington Huskies beat WSU
Cougars   81-69  in Pullman .
The game was tight most of the
first half until the Huskies went
on eight point run to help them
win the men's basketball Apple
Cup.

Wesley Yates lll had his best
gamecso far with 26 points.
Also Zoom Diallo had 20 points.
Hannes Steinbach had 14 pts
and dominated with 13 rebounds.

The Huskies shot 48 percent from
the field while Cougars did 43 per cent.

We see how the Huskies and Cougars
keep going forward.

Preview LA Tech at Washington State

The Cougars had a bye week after
a 10-7 loss to OSU Beavers. Likely
the worst offensive game this season.

The Cougars have a record of 4-5.
They did almost win two games
that would have been upsets.

LA Tech is 5-4 overall while 3-3
in Conference USA. They are tied
with Delaware for sixth place.

This game takes place in Pullman
Saturday night.

The Cougars are favored by 8.5 points.
This will be the first game against
each other in football.

LA Tech is averaging 28.11 points a game
while giving up 18.89 points.
The teams offense is almost split between
rushing and passing. The running game is
171. 7 yards and the passing 194.44 yards per game.  For LA Tech best to run on the
ground before passing to win

Sophomore Blake Baker is LA Tech QB
and he completed 68 percent of his
passes his best game was against
Western Kentucky  on October 21
when he completed 31 of  45 for 340
yards. It is most passes completed
and thrown all season. The most
thrown up and since that game was
26 passes. He has 5 tds and 3 interceptions
on the season

Clay Thevenin and Omiri Wiggins are
the teams two top running backs.
Clay has 94 carries for 529 yards
and 8 touchdowns along 55.89 yardsper game. Omiri has 83 carries for 425 yards
and four touchdowns with average of
44.89 yards per game. Quarterback Blake
is third averaging 32.5 yards per game.
He has run for three touchdowns on the
season too.

LA Tech has only seven catches for
touchdowns. Wide receiver Devin Gandy
is third on the team with 21 catches
however has the highest yardage with
356 and has two touchdowns the only
one with more than a touchdown on the
season. Tight end Eli Finley has the most catches with 28 and second in yardage
at 344 however no touchdowns. Margues
Singleton Jr. is second in catches with
23 however has only 155 yards though
he does have a touchdown.

Though the Cougars are favored they
are averaging 19.89 points a game.
They have only 105.1 yards on the
ground and passes slightly more than
100 yards more in the air.  Though the
Cougars could establish the run it is
likely they will pass the ball more

The Cougars have only three games
remaining on the season including
this one. To make a bowl game they
will need two wins to do so. Go Cougs!

News came out beginning next year
the new Pac-12 will have games on
the USA network as well. This means
that four networks will cover Pac-12
football and basketball games. .

Cal Finishes Second

It is probably  not a big surprise  that Aaron Judge won the MVP since he plays for the New York Yankees  although the Mariners went further in the playoffs  and missed tge World Series on one swing of the bat.

Cal had tge best season  offensively that any
catcher has ever had in the history  of baseball.  It may never happen  again  unless he is the one to do it. Only short coming was his batting average.

This should be less of an award since it is voted on by the media. As we know when it comes down to the hall of fame voting both Ken Griffey Jr.  and Ichiro Suzuki  came one vote short from unanimous.

Cal won the player of the year that was voted on by his peers. I am sure Cal takes that more than this award.

On other Mariners  news they lost another to the  Guardians to their coaching staff. Tony Arnerich  was named as the Guardians new bench coach. He and Guardians  manager  Stephen Vogt are familiar with each other
the  year he was the M's  bullpen coach. Arnerich wore several hats with the nine
years he was on the  Mariners staff.
We wish him the best and we will see
whether  the Mariners  promote within or bring in another from another organization.
Go M's.

Preview Purdue at Washington Huskies

The Washington Huskies football team
who were upset last Saturday at Wisconsin
are favored again this coming  week
are favored over Purdue at 17 points.

The Huskies were without Jonah Coleman
last week when he was injured early in the game. Jonah may play against Purdue.
Center Landen Hatchet missed the
Wisconsin game and may this week too.
Huskies top receiver Denzel Boston is
questionable against Purdue.

Purdue has several players dealing with
injuries as well. Two receivers are out
for the season. De'Nylon Morrissette
with ankle injury is expected to miss
as well. Starting tight end George
Burhenn is expected to be out. Number
one running back Devin Mockobee who
has had an ankle injury is expected to
play.

Purdue's offense is averaging 20.9 points
a game.  The defense is giving up 27 points
a game.  Purdue's record is 0-7 in conference
while 2-8 on the season.

Sophomore Ryan Browne is the quarterback
for Purdue. He is completing 60.5 percent
of his passes. Browne has nine touchdowns
however has eight interceptions. The Huskies
will to see about causing turnovers

Running back Mockobee leads Purdue
with 125 carries for 521 and four touchdowns. Browne is second in carries
with 60 attempts however 4th in yardage.
He has four touchdowns on the ground
too.

Michael Jackson lll leads them with 53
catches for 471yards however has only
one touchdown. Fellow receiver Nitro
Tuggle is second with 26 catches however
363 yards and four touchdowns to lead
them.

The Huskies being home the idea is
they will recupe whether Coleman
or Boston play limited time. Go Dawgs!

The General Managers Meeting

The major league general managers
meetings have begun.

The main discussions are between
the general managers about trades.
What they breed and get there

We know the Mariners need a first
baseman for sure. Retaining Josh
Naylor who now is the best choice
is a free agent. We hope the Mariners
will be willing to pay what is needed.

Jorge Polanco would be the next
choice to retain by dh much of the
time and play second base  when
facing a lefty. This I see against a
tough lefty and how Cole Young is
doing at the time. We have to see
whether Young is current and future
second baseman.

Eugenio Suarez is the third top free
agent who ended the season in Seattle.
He is very popular among the fans
but he could cost too much for his age.
The Mariners do have Ben Williamson
who can play third base.

The Mariners need another high
leverage reliever to go with Matt
Brash and Andre Munoz. See if
they sign a free agent or trade
for one

Some think the Mariners could use
another outfielder and we will see.
An outfielder is done the list though
if a good one comes fine too.

We see how this works out during
the meetings or before the winter
meetings. Go M's.

WSU Cougars Beat St. Thomas

Monday night the Cougars beat St.
Thomas at home 81-71.

The Cougars had a great first half
with 50 points however we outscoured
in the second half.

The Cougars shot better and out
rebounded St.Thomas for the win.
Only downfall was they had 15
turnovers to 7 for St. Thomas.

The Cougars had three players score
in double digits while St. Thomas
had two and did most of their scoring.

They take on the Washington Huskies
on Friday in Pullman. They need to
cut down on their turnovers. To beat
the Huskies they will need to stop
them inside and cause the Huskies
to have turnovers.

The  Huskies should be favored however
the Cougars will have to play good defense
to win.

We Will Miss You Lenny Wilkens

As a young child even before the
Supersonics became an expansion
team Lenny Wilkens was my favorite
player. He was playing for the St.Louis
Hawks before they moved to Atlanta.

When the Supersonics became an
expansion they had Walt Hazzard
on the team. He was my second
favorite player who the Sonics
traded to the Hawks for Lenny
Wilkens. I was so excited that
Lenny was coming to Seattle though
sad that Walt was leaving at same
time.

It was exciting that Lenny eventually
became the player coach for the
Sonics and then eventually traded
to the Cleveland Caveliers. When
his playing career was over Lenny
came back as coach once again
then left once again. The Sonics
win the team's only NBA championship
under Lenny.

Bill Russell became coach of the Sonics.
He was another favorite player. I think
why I like Lenny, Walt and Bill  they
were not selfish players and played
basketball the way it should be.

Lenny Wilkens we will miss you. It
was so nice you came back to Seattle
after your coaching years and did
kind things in Seattle. You have been
a bright spot in the community.
It was nice that Bill Russell made
it his home as well.Rest in peace
Lenny Wilkens from a young kid
those years ago.

Washington Huskies Men's Lose First Game of the Season

The Washington Huskies men's basketball team played Baylor on the road Sunday
evening. The game was close with the
Huskies leading for much of the first
Half. Unfortunately Baylor took control
of the game and the Huskies were unable
to get a lead in the second half.

Final Baylor 78 Washington 69

Zoom Diallo led the Huskies coming
off the bench with 15 points while
Quimari Peterson had 11. Hannes Steinbach
and JJ Mandaquit each had 10 points
starting. Naylor had four starters score
in double figures along with two off
the bench.

This coming Friday will be the Apple Cup
of men's basketball with the Huskies facing
the Cougars in Pullman.

The Cougars play Monday night at home
against St. Thomas of Minnesota for
their tuneup.

So far the Huskies have shown the better
if the two teams however this is a rival
game do anything can happen.

Seattle Win Over Cardinals

Sunday afternoon the Seattle Seahawks
best the Cardinals for the second time this season 44-22.

The first quarter especially was good for
the Seahawks where they had three TD's.
The scored quickly when Sam Darnold
threw a touchdown to Jaxon Smith-Njigba
for 43 yards. It wasn't long before  Seahawks
caused a gym le by linebacker Tyrice Knight
caused a  fumble on quarterback Jacob
Brissett that defensive end DeMarcus
Lawrence picked up and ran in for a touchdown. That made it 14-0 in just
over five minutes in the game.

George Holani the Seahawks third
running back scored a touchdown
just before the first quarter ended.
He had seven carries on the day.

The Seahawks scored again earlier
on in the second quarter where Tyrice
Knight did almost the same identical
fumble and again Lawrence picked
it up and went into for the touchdown.

Zach Charbonnet had a touchdown
in the next possession for six yards
to make it 35-0.

The Cardinals finally had a touchdown
at 2:50 remaining in the first half.
Jason Myers addedex a field goal
to make it 38-7.

That was the most fun and best defense
I saw from the Seahawks ever in the first
half.

The game got sloppy by the Seahawks
so the Cardinals scored a touchdown
in the third quarter. Jason Myers had
another field goal in early 4th quarter.
Marvin Harrison Jr. had a touchdown
then Myers had his third to end all
the scoring.

The Seahawks  play the Rams in
LA next week. Both teams are 7-2.
Go Hawks

Sad news we heard of the passing of
former Seattle Supersonics player
and coach Lenny Wilkins. He was one
of the first players I was fond of in
the NBA. We wish his family heart
held thoughts. Thanks Lenny for being
a great role model as well as player
and coach. We will miss you. Go Sonics!

Gonzaga beats Oklahoma

Saturday night Gonzaga best Oklahoma
at home 83-68.

The Zags took 21 more shots than
the Sooners and had 7 turnovers
compared to their opponent's 16.
Also the Zags had 17 offensive
rebounds to the Sooners 7.
The reasons for the win. Neither
team shit well behind the 3 pt
line so no advantage.

The Zags had four players score
in double figures. They were led by
Graham Ike with 19 points along
with 11 rebounds. Braden Huff
had 13 points and 9 rebounds.

Tyon Grant-Foster had 14 points
with 7 rebounds and Jalen Warley
had 13 and 8 both coming off the
bench.

The Zags next game is on Tuesday
at home against Creighton. We will
see how they do.

Huskies Football Lose To Wisconsin

The Washington Huskies lost Saturday afternoon at Wisconsin. Although the
Huskies wer favored it is never easy road.

Wisconsin hadn't won a Big Ten yet
this season either. The weather was
against both teams with snow and
rain.

The Huskies lost Jonah Coleman and
center Hatchet in the first half . Wide
receiver was hurt once again to. Though
he came back in a few times he wasn't
very effective and couldn't return punts.

The difference in the game was
Wisconsin was able create a turnover
with a block punt. This was after the
the Huskies did the same to them
Each team has a touchdown after
the block punts.

It looked like the Huskies could tie
the game late in the 4th quarter
however the Badgers were able to
block a field goal.   The Huskies
we're driving under two minutes
left in the game however couldn't
convert a first down. They tried again
with quarterback Desmond Williams Jr
running the ball but came up real short
instead of throwing the ball. The
Badgers were able to  run out the clock.

Badgers 13 Huskies 10

Gonzaga will play Oklahoma
tonight in men's basketball.
Find out here how they did.

WSU Cougars Lose Again

The Washington State Cougars men's basketball team again gets to a rough
start this time against Davidson on the
road in North Carolina 85-69. This is
the first time these teams have faced
each other.

The Cougars only had 24 points in the
first half while Davidson had 40. Both
teams had 45 points in the second
half. Davidson is a team that loves
shooting behind the 3pt line.

The Cougars had only one player
score in doubles figures in Emmanuel
Ugbo who had 26 points along with
five points.  Ugbo is a transfer from
Boise State.

For the Cougars to have more success
they need more scoring from  their
other starters as well as the bench.

The Cougars next game is this coming Monday at home against St.Thomas
out of Minnesota.  They lost to St. Mary's
and they play the Army before facing
the  Cougars.

Preview Arizona at Seahawks

The Seahawks are 6.5 favorites
over the Cardinal. They have
won seven straight over the
Cardinals as well. The Seahawks
best the Cardinals back in week 4
in Arizona 23-20. The Seahawks
had a good lead and the Cardinals
almost came back to win.

The Seahawks are 2-2 at home
while Cardinals are 2-2 on the road
so something will break. The
Seahawks have won three. Monday
night the Cardinals broke a five
game winning streak in a row by
beating the Cowboys 27-17.

Cardinals won with backup QB
Jacoby Brissett playing and is
expected to play again this
Sunday. See what he can do
once again . Go Hawks!

Washington Huskies Men's Basketball Win

For the second game to start the
season the Washington Huskies
won beating the Denver Pioneers
84-70.

The game was sing degits most
of the first half.  In fact Denver
had the lead a couple times though
only by a couple points. The second
half the Huskies got the lead into
double digits however the outcome
wasn't decided until the last couple
of minutes in the ball game.

Again the Huskies had a eight man
rotation for most of the game. Seven
of the eight scored in double digits.
Only center Franck Kepnang didn't
score in double digits. He had only
two points. Though he started Kepnang
scored two points in thirteen minutes.

Hannes Steinbach and Wesley Yates
led the Huskies each with 13 points.
Steinbach led with 16 rebounds.

Denver on the other hand played with
six players most of the way. The
Pioneers had only two players in
double digits. They were led by
Logan Kinsley who had 23 points.

This Sunday the Huskies will play
their first road game at Baylor.
This will be the Huskies first big
test and see how good they may
be. Go Dawgs!

Preview Washington Huskies at Wisconsin

The Washington Huskies are now 24th
ranked after having a bye week. They
are favored by 12 points at Wisconsin.

The Badgers who have had good seasons
in recent years has had a bad one this
time. They are 2-6 overall however 0-5
in the Big Ten.  There two latest losses
were against Ohio State and Oregon.
The two wins were right at the beginning
of the season. The schedule won't get
easier after playing the Huskies. The
Huskies have played the Badgers only
twice winning both easily. The last
game was in 1992.

The Badgers are averaging 12.5 points
a game while giving up 23.9 points a game.
So the Huskies being favorites for about
the same margin.

The Badgers are averaging 109.8  yards
rushing which is ok however throwing
the ball just over 152 yards which is
low in this day.  The defense is giving up
a yard more than the offense is running however are 230 yards threw the air so
almost 80 yards difference. The trouble
to is the defense isn't causing any
turnovers while the offense is at 1.5
per game.

Senior Hunter Simmons has started the
last four games at quarterback.Right now
he is expected to however it isn't a sure
thing. Simmons has thrown only one
touchdown pass which was in the last game
and the only points against Oregon.
Sophomore Danny O'Neil started the
first four games so he could get the
nod and true freshman Carter Smith
could as well. We might have to wait
until game time to find out.

Starting running back Dilin Jones has
been out a few games with injuries.
He is leading with 300 yards on the
season and he has two touchdownd.
Backup running back Darrion Dupree
has missed action too. Injuries have
been a major reason the Badgers
are having a bad season.  Gideon
Ituka the third running back is now
the starter. He had the best day
as far as rushing yards this season
with 85 yards against Oregon.

When it comes to receivers senior
Vinny Anthony ll leads in receptions
with 26 catches for 291 yards and
one touchdown.  Senior tight end
Lance Mason is second with 22
catches for 276 yards and leads
with three touchdowns. Sophomore
Trech Kekshina the slot receiver is
third in receptions with 16 but doesn't
have any touchdowns. Backup
receiver Jayden Ballard has only
seven catches however three are
touchdowns. Outside of Vinny, Trech and Lance no one else has double digits
in receptions.

The Huskies are 2-1 on the road after
last year where they lost every game.

moving up the conference. Go Dawgs!

Washington Huskies Wins Opener

November means college basketball
has arrived and the Washington Huskies
had their season opener on Monday
night at home.

The Huskies have a new crew of players
for the most part. Franck Kepnang
returning again and hoping for a full
season started at center scoring seven
points with nine rebounds in 23 minutes.
Sophomore Zoom Diallo the only other
returning player was one of five players
who scored in double figures had 14
points off the bench.  Zoom maybe considered a starter has been nursing
injury coming into the season. His value
could still be coming off the bench.
He did play 22 minutes however.

Final Huskies 94 Arkansas-Pine Bluff 50

The Huskies were led in scoring by
incoming freshman Hannes Steinbach
from Germany with 21 points. Steinbach
might be only around one season as he
is considered to be a lottery pick in the
upcoming season. He was expected to
come off the bench as another new Husky
Jacob Ognacevic was injured in camp
and not expected back until December.

In all the Huskies played eight players.
Another one expected to be a starter
Desmond Claude a transfer from Xavier
has an ankle injury. We could see him
in the Huskies next game though he
could be rested once again. Anyway with
eight playing Monday night the Huskies
look like a solid ten men playing in
rotation when fully healthy.

Wesley Yates who started at guard and
returned to Washington after a year with
the USC Trojans had 14 points. We could
see him play some time at small forward
when Claude is healthy.  Bryson Tucker
who started at small forward had 12
points and led the Huskies with 10 points.
Whether he stays a starter or not he
is a value to the team.

Quimari Peterson who looks to be the
backup point guard a transfer from
Indiana State had 13 points in 19
minutes so can be offense needed
coming off the bench. In fact he made
4 out I from behind the three point line.
JJ Mandaquit  a true freshman started at point guard. He had only four points however had eight assists which is his strength and
had four rebounds as well. Against
tougher competition we will see how
he does.

Latham Somerville is the 8th player
who played for the Huskies Monday
night. He is a transfer from Rutgers
and Latham will split time at center
with Kepnang. He had nine points
going with five rebounds.

Besides Peterson, Yates and Tucker
were the primary shooter behind
the 3 pt line each making two.
In all the Huskies made 10 out of
25. We see if that continues.

The Huskies next game will be
against the Denver Pioneers on
Thursday night. They lost their
opening game Monday night
playing at Seattle  U. 84-73 in
their season opener.
Go Dawgs.

The WSU Cougars lost their season
opener at home Monday night to
Idaho 83-81. They had two starters
and two off the bench who scored
in double figures. Three of the four
had 17 points each while Jerone
Morton starting had 14.

The Cougars had three starters who
combined for eight points. We will see
whether a change will be made in
the starting lineup coming up. The
Cougars next game will be Friday
at Davidson. They won their opener
at home Monday night over DeSales
97-63. This should be another tough
game for the Cougars.

Gonzaga won their season opener
Monday night easily at home over
Texas Southern 98-43. The Zags had
three starters scoring in double
figures. The three only played just
over half of the game. Guard Tyon
Grant-Foster led with 25 points
while Braden Huff had 14 and
Graham Ike had 13 along with
leading with 11 rebounds.

Adam Miller and Davis Fogle
look like instant offense off the
bench. Milker had 13 points while
Fogle had 11.

The Zags next game will be home
against Oklahoma who beat St.
Francis PA Monday night 102-66
on Saturday night. Go Zags!

Seahawks Win On the Road Again

The Seahawks beat Commanders
38-14 in Washington DC.

The Seahawks continue to do well
on the road being undefeated so far
this season and ten in a row.

Sam Darnold had a great night
completing ten in a row. He had
an interception on the night though
the Seahawks had a comfortable
lead. His worse throw of the night.
He had only three miscomplete
passes on the night and four
touchdown passes.  How he is
doing right now we should keep
him.

Though he had no touchdowns
Jaxon Smith-Njigba had eight
catches for 229 yards.  Rookie
Tory Horton had two of the
touchdown catches on four
receptions.

The defense has a good night as
well. Though they gave up 158
yards on the ground they only
the two touchdowns. Also they
had four sacks.

The Seahawks had only 88 yards
on the ground with Ken Walker lll
and Zach Charbonnet splitting
it up though Walker had 11 carries
to Zach 8.  The Seahawks can look
to improve more on the ground it
is still helping the passing game.

The Seahawks are now 6-2 and
still tied with the Rams.  Next
week they are home against the
Arizona Cardinals on Sunday who
plays the Cowboys tomorrow on
Monday night football.

Go Hawks!

Beavers Beat Cougars

It has been a tough year for the Beavers
losing their first seven games of the season
and fired their coach. Now they have won
two games.  See what they do the rest
of the way. They do play the Cougars
again in the final regular season game.

Final Beavers 10 Cougars 7

Both teams were scoreless in the first
quarter then the Beavers kicked a field.
goal in second quarter. Cougars had a
touchdown to take the lead before the
first half ended.

Neither team scored in the third quarter.
Beavers running back Anthony Hankerson who had a big game  scored a touchdown
at the 9:52 mark of the 4th quarter. It
looked like near the end of game the
Cougars may win the game however
the Beavers made an important stop
so with a minute left it look the Cougars
would tie and possibly go into overtime.
The Cougars though missed the field
goal.

The Cougars still had a chance with
time outs however when needed
Hankerson ran for a first down and
they just had to kneel.

The Cougars are now 4-5.  They have
a bye week before playing Louisiana
Tech in Pullman on November 15.
Go Cougs!
