Cal Finishes Second

It is probably  not a big surprise  that Aaron Judge won the MVP since he plays for the New York Yankees  although the Mariners went further in the playoffs  and missed tge World Series on one swing of the bat.

Cal had tge best season  offensively that any
catcher has ever had in the history  of baseball.  It may never happen  again  unless he is the one to do it. Only short coming was his batting average.

This should be less of an award since it is voted on by the media. As we know when it comes down to the hall of fame voting both Ken Griffey Jr.  and Ichiro Suzuki  came one vote short from unanimous.

Cal won the player of the year that was voted on by his peers. I am sure Cal takes that more than this award.

On other Mariners  news they lost another to the  Guardians to their coaching staff. Tony Arnerich  was named as the Guardians new bench coach. He and Guardians  manager  Stephen Vogt are familiar with each other
the  year he was the M's  bullpen coach. Arnerich wore several hats with the nine
years he was on the  Mariners staff.
We wish him the best and we will see
whether  the Mariners  promote within or bring in another from another organization.
Go M's.
