Louisiana Tech easily 28-3.
The Cougars first score was almost
midway of the first quarter when
quarterback Zevi Eckhaus threw
a 23 yard touchdown pass to wide
receiver Josh Meredith.
Eckhaus had ran for a touchdown run
at 12:11 of the second quarter. LA
Tech had a field goal to end the first
half. There was no scoring in the third
quarter.
Eckhaus had another touchdown run
of one yard early on in the 4th quarter.
Running back Kirby Vorhees ran for
a touchdown for l9 yards to put icing
on the win. He led the Cougars with
76 yards followed by Eckhaus 56 yards.
Highlights is LA Tech Bulldogs use
two quarterbacks. Evan Bullock mainly
a throwing quarterback completed four
of ten passes for 36 yards. The other
is Trey Kukuk who is more run first.
He led the Bulldogs with nine carries
for 39 yards. Throwing he completed
five of eight for 24 yards. For a team
that throwing is their game they only
had 60 yards total.
Another key the Cougars had the ball
just over ten more minutes than the
Bulldogs. They carried the ball on the
ground 39 times compared to throwing
the ball 25 times.
The Cougars defense only allowed three
first downs on eleven tries on third downs.
They had three sacks while the offense
wasn't sacked at all. Eckhaus being mobile
ran out of the pocket to pass several times
though the offensive line did a good job
protecting him when he stayed in the
pocket.
Next Saturday the Cougars play at James
Madison and final regular season at
home the following Saturday at home
against Oregon State where they hope
to return the favor after losing at Corvallis.
Go Cougs!
