Kraken Make First Trade

Thursday was the opening for teams in the NHL
to make trades. The Kraken made their first trade
as a franchise one day after the expansion draft.
They traded center Tyler Pitlick a center to the
Calgary Flames. The Kraken had selected Tyler
from the Arizona Coyotes. The Kraken will pick
up a fourth rounder next year. The Kraken will
save 1.75 million dollars against the salary cap.

The Kraken were not going to keep all 30 players
since they have 23 spots on the roster. The Kraken
may make a few additional trades; however, they
are looking to add more players in free agency to
improve the team.

I have heard from hockey experts the Kraken picked
for the most part for defense in the expansion draft.
Now they are looking to get players who can score
goals too.

Most likely the Kraken won't be in the Stanley Cup
their first season but they do want a winning product
coming out from the beginning.

Free agency will begin on July 28. I am sure they
are looking at several players to convince them to
come to Seattle. We hope they will be able to bring
several this way. Won't be a lot of players, however
somewhere around five certainly help.  Go Kraken!
