Mariners 2 Angels 0
Chris Flexen pitched another outstanding
game at home once again. He is almost
unstoppable at home. The Angels were
only able to get three hits off of Flexen
in seven innings. Had the Mariners
scored more runs Flexen might have
been able to go another inning.
Drew Steckenrider had an outstanding
eight inning striking out the side. Paul
Sewald came in recording his second
save. Right now both pitchers are
primarily setup with an occasion will
close a game. Kendall Graveman had
pitched the last two games so decided
to give Sewald the save opportunity.
We can see Steckenrider having save
opportunities as well.
The Mariners had their scoring with
a run in the fourth and the sixth innings.
They tried to add on but no such luck.
Though they only scored two runs they
did have seven hits. Luis Torrens who
was at dh had two hits on the night
including hitting a triple to score the
second run on the night.
The Mariners will be going with
the bullpen Sunday to see if they
can sweep the Angels. The bullpen
not used much on Thursday, Friday
and Saturday they will be rested for
the most part. Not sure who will start
the game. They all will get good rest
with the all-start break happening
after the game. The Mariners next
series will be against the Angels
again this time in Anaheim.
Coming up in the next post will be
continuing on the Mariners top prospects
along with the baseball draft starting
today with round one then going thru
Monday and Tuesday.
Kyle Seager missed Saturday's game.
There is a good chance he may go on
the injured list. Donovan Walton along
with catcher Cal Raleigh left the Rainiers
game in the second innings and packed
their bags. It looks like Walton will
take Seager's spot and Raleigh being
called up for the first time. Not sure
whose spot he will take on the roster.
I am sure have more news on that before
Sunday game time.
