Mariners Even Series With Twins

Saturday afternoon it was touch and go
game against the Twins. The Mariners
finally won the game in the tenth inning
4-3.

The Mariners scored first in the third
inning when Taylor Trammel hit his
first major league home run. Also,
Mitch Haniger hit a home run as well.
Unfortunately ex-Mariner Nelson Cruz
hit a home run in the bottom of the
third to tie it. The two runs Yusei Kikuchi
gave up in the six innings he pitched.

Another good outing by Kikuchi. He
didn't have as many strike outs as in
his first outing but did strike out six.
Too bad he wasn't able to record the
victory. He continues pitching this
way the Mariners will do well in
his games.

Neither team were able to do anything
between the fourth inning and the seventh.
In the eighth inning JP Crawford hit a
dribble down third base line to get on.
He stole second base came home on a
single up the middle  in front of the
centerfielder by Kyle Seager.

Closer Rafael Montero wasn't able to
hold the tight one run lead in the eighth
inning so going into the tenth the score
was 3-3. Taylor Trammell was able to
walk was able to get to third base on
a single by Braden Bishop who entered
the game as a defensive replacement
in left field for Sam Haggerty.

After JP Crawford record an out where
the runners couldn't advance Mitch
Haniger hit a sacrifice to score Trammell.
Keynan Middleton recorded his first
save by getting all three Twins out.
Kendall Graveman who had pitched
the ninth inning recorded the victory.

Dylan Moore continues to struggle at
the plate not having a hit in the game.
Wonder how long before he is given
a day off to figure things out as he is
batting .154. Look at putting Ty France
at second base for a game or two. The
other option is Sam Haggerty but he is
hitting worse than Moore.

It looks like Evan White won't go onto
the injured list as he has been working
out in Minnesota. He could pitch hit
on Sunday and be back in action on
Monday in Baltimore if everything
goes well.

Chris Flexen makes his second start
Sunday in Minnesota. He pitches
anything close to what he did in his
first start the Mariners have a good
chance in winning the final game of
the series before heading to Baltimore
for a four game series.

We will have a look at the Orioles in
our recap of the Twins series. Go M's.
