Mariners Win Double Header

The Seattle Mariners won both games of
the double header in Baltimore on Thursday.
Both were real close and low scoring.

Marco Gonzales won the opener with the
Mariners winning 4-2 while Justin Dunn
won 2-1.

Marco went five innings giving up two
runs on a homer in the first inning. Rafael
Montero pitched the sixth inning followed
by Kendall Graveman who record the save.

Mitch Haniger who has gotten off to a great
start hit a home run his third on the season.
He looks like the all-star he was before
getting hurt.

JP Crawford who looks like has gotten
out of his slump hit a double in the sixth
inning. The Mariners had five hits in the
game with three from the bottom of the
batting order which is a good sign.

In the second game Justin Dunn went
five innings as well. He gave up a solo
home run in the third inning. He had
two walks which is an improvement.
See if Dunn can improve in his next
outing with walks. He is an outstanding
pitcher as long as he doesn't walk
anyone that is when he gets in trouble.

The Mariners only used two relievers
in this game as well so the bullpen
should be in good shape coming home
to face the Houston Astros. Hopefully
the Mariners can do well for a change
against the Astros. Right now the
Mariners are in first place. The Astros
have five players who could be missing
against the Mariners having covid.
All depends on their testing.

Yusei Kikuchi will start Friday night's
game. Pitch anywhere he did in his
first two games the Mariners will have
a good chance in winning and that is
all we can ask for out Kikuchi.

In the second game the Mariners scoring
was all by the long ball. Dylan Moore
who has been struggling at the plate had
the first home run and then Mitch Haniger
repeated from the first game with another
one. He is hot right now and all we need
him to do is stay healthy and be himself.
