Mariners Now One and One

The Seattle Mariners won the opener on
Thursday night 8-7 after being behind
5-0. The Giants showed they couldn't
keep hold of the lead.

Friday night it became the opposite
though the Giants didn't have as far
to go to win.

The Mariners had a 3-1 lead then
Yusei Kikuchi gave up his second
homer of the night in the sixth inning
for the Giants to tie 3-3.

Kikuchi pitched well going thru six
innings. Besides the three runs he
walked only one batter while striking
out ten. Pitching that way he will
have a good season especially if
he can cut down on the home runs.

Drew Steckenrider made his first
appearance for the Mariners. It didn't
go well with him giving up three
runs in the sixth inning. The Mariners
were unable to comeback not getting
anymore runs in the game so final
Giants 6 Mariners 3

I hope Steckenrider won't have another
performance like this one anymore for
a while anyway. Right now the question
still the bullpen.

The Mariners had 12 batters strike out
in the game with Taylor Trammell and
Dylan Moore each striking out three times.
Trammell still looking for his first hit.
Playing good center field though.

So Saturday night is the rubber match of
the season. Chris Flexen makes his first
appearance for the Mariners in a regular
season game. Logan Webb goes for the
Giants. Webb looks like someone the
Mariners should get hits off. Of course,
we have heard that one before.

Kendall Graveman is the only reliever
not seeing action in either game so far.
I expect to see him in Saturday night's
game.

Hopefully, the batters can hit well
so make it an easy win. Go M's.
