Mariners Now Take On White Sox

While the Seattle Mariners had success
against the San Francisco Giants the
Chicago White Sox didn't do as well
against the Los Angeles Angels on
the road in Anaheim. The Angels took
three of the four games in the series.
We just hope this continues in Seattle
for the White Sox. They can start winning
when they finish up with the Mariners.

The White Sox lost their shortstop Tim
Anderson Sunday night in the first inning.
He pulled a hamstring running down the
line to first. He had to leave the game and
now he is day to day.  Most likely he will
miss the first game of the series tonight
or more.  We will have to hear whether
this could put him on the injured list
for ten days.

I was able to see Ohtani pitch for the first
time on Sunday night for the Angels. He
looked pretty good on the mound and in
the first inning he hit a massive home run
as well. He got in some trouble in the fifth
inning where the Sox were able to get the
bases loaded a wild pitch on a slider brought
a runner home and then another pitch the
catcher couldn't handle then tried to throw
to first which overthrew and then trying to
get a runner at home Ohtani went to the
ground. I believe he will be okay but he
did leave the game with the score tied
3-3. I certainly was impressed by his
performance.

In other local sports Monday night the
Gonzaga Bulldogs go against Baylor
in the championship series. This will
be pressure for Gonzaga for sure. They
win it will be a bit of history in the
making. Go Zags!

In a sort of related news the Stanford
Cardinal women's basketball team
won the NCAA championship over
Arizona Wildcats. Stanford was ahead
for most of the game with both teams
going on runs.

Stanford was able to go on a 11 point
run in the first quarter than Arizona
came back in the second quarter to
continue making the game interesting.
The final score came right down to the end
with Arizona having the last shot but good
defense by Stanford allowed not a good shot
selection so the shot missed with Cardinal
winning 54-53. Can't do much closer than
that for sure.

One member of Stanford women's team
was Russell Wilson's little sister Anna.
One of the reasons to mention it besides
being a great game.

Hopefully in the next post we will see
another Mariner victory. Go M's.
