Mariners Lose In Ten

The Seattle Mariners offense sort
of struggled on the day and in the
end they lost 6-4 in 10 innings on
a home run.

It was one of those games where
the Mariners got down, tied, down
again, tied, went ahead, then tied
and lost on a home run in the 10th.

This is a game they had an opportunity
to win however to close to know how
it go in the end.

Mike Ford at dh had two home runs
on the day while JP Crawford was
back in had a home run too. What was
interesting about Crawford's home run
it hit off the right field fence. Originally
wasn't a home run though Crawford
thought it was then ended up at third
like it was a triple. The umpires confired
and ruled a home run. Julio Rodriguez
had a home run in the sixth inning. In
fact Julio had three of the Mariners
eight hits. Crawford and Ford had two
each and Cal Raleigh had one.

Though the home runs allowed the Mariners have a chance to win the
previous two games they showed
their best success is when they
have multiple hits including doubles
to win. We hope Sunday the Mariners
find a way to win and come home
with a 3-3 road trip. Though it may
not be success it is better than failure
though the previous two games gave
us hope.

Bryce Miller lasted only  going into
fifth inning with Matt Brash to come
in too make things not worse and
give the team a chance. The bullpen
did a fine job until Justin Tops gave
up a two run homer in.the 10th. Again
the Mariners offense had trouble scoring
when they could.

Right now top prospect Harry Ford is
batting only .246 at Everett in 62 games
though he could get hot in the next 62
however he does have eight home runs
so he should have more than last year
when he had 11. Remember he is still
working on his catching. Whether he
stays at Everett the rest of the season
or not he should be at double A Arkansas
next year unless like Julio he makes the
jump to the majors though the outfielder
did spend some time at Arkansas
in the same year as at Everett.

Shortstop Cole Young drafted number one
last year is in his second season being
at low A. Young is currently hitting .266 at
Modesto. There is a possibility he could
go to Everett before the end of the season.
Hard to know the Mariners could bring up
both Young and Ford at the same time
but since they were the top picks in 2021
and 2022 they could be two years in a row
as well since they were both high school
players. Let you know how others are
doing in the minors this year. Go M's
