third straight game however it wasn't
enough. Luis gave up a run in the 6th
inning . He was able to go seven innings
giving up five hits, walk one and striking
out six. Matt Brash gave up a run in the
8th however it was unearned.
The trouble was the Mariners were unable
to get hits off Rangers starter Jon Gray
who is having a good season himself.
Gray went seven innings as well giving up
two hits. The Mariners only able to get
one hit off the Rangers bullpen.
The Rangers don't have a good bullpen
except those who come end at the end
like their closer Will Smith. For success
in remaining two games of the series
the Mariners will need to score early.
Julio Rodriguez continues hitting well
having one of the hits along with Teoscar
Hernandez who actually tried to stretch a
single into a double. The third hit was
by newcomer Mike Ford who was recalled
from Tacoma while Taylor Trammell was
sent down. Ford will be the primary dh
against righties while he is here. Hopefully
he can continue what he did in Tacoma.
He will be Ty France backup at first base
too.
The Mariners have a day game against
the Rangers on Saturday as well as Sunday.
Marco Gonzales was supposed to start
however arm trouble is keeping out.
So the Mariners have recalled another
top prospect Bryan Woo from double A
Arkansas. If he does well like the other
Mariners prospect we could see Marco
going to the bullpen when he returns.
The Mariners future rotation looks pretty
good I say and this doesn't include another
prospect in Emerson Hancock. At some point the Mariners may need to make a
trade possibly Hancock to get another
good bat into the lineup. Go M's.
