Mariners Offense Comes Alive

The Mariners  offense  came alive on
Thursday  night for the team to take
the final game of  the series  against
the  Yankees.  We are glad they weren't
swept heading into Baltimore. It would
be nice to  see the offense pick it up
the rest of the time on the road.

Julio  had a single with one out in the
first inning  then Ty France  often was
hit by a pitch. Teoscar Hernandez who
has been  hot lately including three hits
in this game drove in Julio with a hit.
Eugenio Suarez hit a double down the
left field  line to score two runs. Mike
Ford had a sacrifice  fly to  make it 4-0.

In the second inning Kolten Wong who
has been struggling  all season  had his
first home run of the year. Ty France had
a home run too.

The Mariners had two more runs in the
third and fourth innings  as well. In the
fourth Teoscar Hernandez had a home
run as well as Cal Raleigh making it 10-0.
The Mariners  didn’t  have  any more  runs
in the game however  I  feel  that is ok
as long as they save for more on Friday.

Bryan Woo  pitched a marvelous game
going into the sixth inning.  He got one out
and gave up two  hits when Tyler Adcock
came in the game and had a quick double
play. Woo was pitching a no-hitter until the
6th inning. Chris Flexen  who has been
struggling on the mound went two innings
and he gave up  two  runs in the  9th.
Final Mariners  10 Yankees  2

Woo has been a big surprise  since his first
outing. In his last three games the opponents
haven't been able to  touch his fast ball which
he has been  throwing about  80 percent of the
time or his other pitchers. What will the Mariners
do when Marco Gonzales comes back. The
answer will happen  when Marco  does come back.
