so a good time to look at the linebackers
and edge rushers.
The linebackers are shown as fifteen listed.
Also six defensive ends. The edge rushers are
shown as either outside linebackers or defensive
ends for the most part.
The Seahawks will likely play with two linebackers
in the middle with two on the outside which you
can call edge rushers. At times they can be
known as defensive ends. All lot depends whether
they are playing three-four or four-three defense.
In the past the Seahawks played three-four most
of the time with a middle linebacker and two outside
linebackers. Defensive line would be two ends and
two defensive tackles.
We will likely see Bobby Wagner in the middle most
of the time in either formations. How much will depend
how much he has slowed down as well. Jordyn Brooks
may miss the beginning of the season. When he is
available we will see him side by side with Wagner.
On passing downs one or the other will be in there.
When Jamal Adams is able to play we could see him
at outside linebacker/edge rusher instead of safety.
The Seahawks likely move him around.
The Seahawks signed free agent Devin Bush to help out
in the middle. He may come in for Wagner or start before
Brooks is able to play. The Seahawks didn't draft any
inside linebackers, however they signed three college
undrafted free agents including Washington
Huskies Cam Bright who played for them one season
after playing at University of Pittsburgh. Any of those
could make the team.
The Seahawks did draft two edge rushers who may
start for them next season. Derrick Hall out of Auburn
was drafted in the second round and Mike Morris in the
fifth round from Michigan has been impressive. Darrell
Taylor is one who has come who should get plenty of
chances especially to rush the passer. Alton Robinson
who didn't play last year is back to see if he can make
a difference.
Other players will try to make their name and place known
in training camp coming up. Next time we will look at
the defensive linemen where there is a big change.
Most be seen as tackles but some as defensive ends in
the 3-4 when they are playing it. Go Hawks!
