Mariners Lose Pitching Match Up

Not a big surprise the Mariners lost to
the Boston Red Sox Wednesday
afternoon 3-1.

The matchup was between Luis Castillo for the Mariners and lefty
Garrett Grochet for the Red Sox.

The Mariners approach was to
make Grochet to throw a lot of
pitches early however they were
unable to take advantage. The
only run the Mariners got was
in the second inning tying the
game on a wild pitch after the
Red Sox had a home run.

Trevor Story hit a two-run homer
in the fourth inning to make the
difference in the game.  Both
starters went six innings. Also
both teams bullpen did a great
job neither giving up a hit.

The Mariners pitching was good
throughout the home stand. They
could have won all six games with
a decent amount of hitting outside
of Tuesday night's game.  This
again shows the Mariners need
to add another bat to the lineup.

The Mariners are hoping Luke
Raley back soon who is on a
rehab assignment with the
Tacoma. Not sure he is enough
however picking up a clutch hitter
to the group would be nice.

The Mariners have Thursday off
then play the Cubs in Chicago
over the Mariners. The Mariners
will be on a ten game road trip.
During next week they play four
at Minnesota against the Twins.
It will help if the Mariners can
at least split the ten games.
Go M's.
