they went extra innings against the
Texas Rangers. Fortunately they won
the two games the first and last that
went 22 innings.
Heading into extra innings the score
was 1-1. The Mariners scored two
runs in the tenth inning. Texas tied
in the bottom of the inning on a Corey
Seager homer run. Neither team
scored in the 11th.
In the 12th inning Donovan Solano
ground out and Luke Raley scored.
Mitch Garver back behind the plate
after being hit in the mask in Minnesota
hit a two run homer with Arozarena
to give the Mariners a three run lead.
Corey Seager had a sacrifice fly for
the Rangers only run.
Luis Castillo went six innings for the
Mariners as did the Rangers started.
Trent Thornton pitched the last two
innings recording the winner.
Garver had his best play on this road
trip having three home runs. Solano
had a great trip too. His average is
now up to .258. With Rowdy Tellez
being released Solano will have more
playing time. Luke Raley will play some
first base as well as right field. How
much playing time for Solano comes
down to how good Dominic Canzone
plays. Both Canzone and Raley are
lefties so how both are hitting will
determine the playing time.
You would think Dylan Moore would
play some right field against lefties
however he has been in a big slump
over the last 32 games or so. In fact
many fans wonder why he is still on
the team. That is a good question.
At some point Victor Robles will
return however after the all-star
break I am sure at the earliest.
Will the Mariners look for another
right handed bat. Go M's.
