Washington Huskies Men's Basketball Adds Another Player

The Washington Huskies men's basketball team continues to
have a successful offseason with
the transfer portal.

Last season under first year head
Danny Sprinkle the Huskies ended
up ending last place in the first
year in the Big Ten as well. The
trouble wasn't the starting lineup
however getting little action
from the bench consistently.
Frushmen Zoom Diallo started
some as well coming off the
bench.

The Huskies players either graduated
or went into the transfer portal besides
Zoom Diallo and center Franck Kepnang who spent another season
being injured. Most likely he will be
the backup center to the new guy
Latham Somerville. Thing about
Kepnang he has been the heart of
the Huskies though he has been
hurt most of his time at Washington.

On Friday Desmond Claude announced
he is coming to Washington from
the USC Trojans. He is the second
player coming from the Trojans.
The first was former Huskies guard Wesley Yates III  who went to USC
last year after being hurt his freshman
year under former coach Mike Hopkins.
Zoom Diallo is expected to be Yates
backup however we could see them
play together too.

Desmond Claude spent one year
at USC averaging 15.8 points a
game. He played two years st Xavier
before USC. At Washington Claude
is expected to start at small forward.
The Huskies don't necessarily need
him to score the same this coming
season however being a double
figures scorer will certainly help.
Another area was interested in
Claude to and that was Gonzaga.

Bryson Tucker who earlier transferred
over from Indiana is expected to
be Claude's backup. He average
5.4 points a game off the bench
for Indiana last season as a freshman.
If he could add another couple points
to his average for the Huskies that. would be good. He averaged almost
three rebounds a game so another
one or two plus increase of minutes
will help the Huskies too.

The Seattle Mariners announced they
designated outfielder Leody Taveras.
They felt he didn't do what they hoped
since coming over from the Texas
Rangers. Mariners called up Dominic Canzone from Tacoma. He has been
hitting hard with the Rainiers. He likely
be in the lineup against right handed
pitchers while Dylan Moore most
likely start against lefties. How this
works we will see. Luke Raley is
expected back shortly to after
rehab assignment. How well Canzone
plays will determine whether Raley
will play right field or first base.
Raley can play center field if the
Mariners need to give Julio Rodriguez
a game off as well.

Over the next  couple weeks whether
the Mariners  need to make a trade for a position player as well.  Harry Ford has  played some at dh when not
catching so he could come up to
the Mariners too. Stay tuned.
position player.
