Final Rangers 7 Mariners 3
Rangers veteran dh Joc Pederson was the
player of the game. He hit a solo home run
in the first inning. Randy Arozarena tied in
the top of the second. Unfortunately Joc
came up again in the bottom of the
second and hit a three run homer.
Top of the 3rd Julio had a sacrifice fly
to put the Mariners within two runs.
The trouble in the bottom of the third
the Rangers hit two more home runs
counting for three more runs. Non
by Pederson. The Mariners didn't get
their final run until the 9th on a sacrifice
fly by JP Crawford.
George Kirby obviously didn't pitch well
giving up all seven runs. He left after
the 4th inning. Jose Ferrer pitched the
5th and the three low leverage relievers
an inning each. The Mariners bullpen
each gave up a hit however struck out
seven total. Alex Hoppe who was brought
up from Tacoma struck out three in the
8th. We have to see any moves in the
bullpen for the Dodgers series.
I thought the Mariners should have made
at least one trade going into the Rangers
series. Most likely should hzve been a
right handed. Now it is going to be tough
since things with the Mariners are in
disarray. Are they going to bounce
back against the Dodgers we will see.
The Mariners sat Cal Raleigh Monday
going with Julio Rodriguez at dh and
Mitch Garver at catcher. We hope that
