Tuesday evening in Miami.
The Mariners are changing the starting
rotation by having Bryan Woo go.
The Mariners will be facing a very good
pitcher for the Marlins. This might be the
reason or they want to change it up going
into the all-star break. George Kirby will
start on Wednesday and Bryce Miller on
Thursday.
The Mariners will start the post all star break
at home against the San Francisco Giants
They will play three times followed by three
against the Cincinnati Reds. The Mariners will have Julio back after the all-star break. They could
plsy him against Tampa Bay depending how
he feels. Brendan Donovan is expected to go
on a rehab assignment so he might be available
against the Giants. This will be the strength of
lineup for the best of the season.
Donovan will likely play some second base, third,
left field, right field and dh. That comes down to
who the starter they are facing and who is hitting
well for the Mariners. This will be interesting in
the same manner as the starting rotation. The
trading deadline will make things interesting too.
Jerry Dipoto believes the Mariners could trade
with another team who makes the playoffs too.
The Mariners need a right handed bat and a
reliever. If they only get one which one will it
be.
The Marlins will start two starters in the first
two games so they will go primarily with a
left handed hitting lineup. The only difference
is Victor Robles in center field. Who starts
on Thursday is not known yet. We will see
whether Mitch Garver will catch in this series
or against the Rays. Go M's.
