Mariners Take Series Over Twins

Sunday the Seattle Mariners won the
final game of the series over the Twins
in Minnesota, however, it wasn't easy.

Chris Flexen didn't have as good a
start as he did in his opening game.
He gave up six runs in five innings
before the offense was able to get
going. Also, helped the bullpen 
was able to shut down the Twins
offense. Will Vest followed by
Drew Steckenrider and Rafael 
Montero did not give up a hit
in four innings. Vest and 
Steckenrider each gave up a 
walk but struck out a batter
as well. Montero record his
second save on the season.

Kyle Seager who was four 
for four on the day started
the comeback  hitting a solo
home run in the sixth inning.
Taylor Trammell had his 
second homer run of the 
season with two runners 
on baseball make the score
Twins 6 Mariners 4.

The Mariners scored another
run in the seventh to creep
within one. Top of the 9th
Kyle Seager hit his second
homer on the day scoring
three runs making the final
score 8-6.

The Seattle Mariners are now
5-4 third place in the American
League West a game behind the
Los Angeles Angels and the
Houston Astros tied for first 
with a 6-3 record.

The Mariners now go to Baltimore
to take on the Orioles in a four game
series. The Astros are 4-5 after sweep
by the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox
got off to a bad start losing all three
opening series however they have 
won six straight. 

The Mariners will be home next
weekend with a three game series
against the Houston Astros followed
by two games against the Los Angeles
Dodgers. They will the go on another
road trip back east starting with the
Boston Red Sox.
