Seattle Mariners not only losing to the
Chicago White Sox 10-4 but lost James
Paxton in the second inning with one out
with left arm strain. In the fifth inning
diving for a ball Jake Fraley came up
with a hamstring pull.
Both Paxton and Fraley will have MRI's
Wednesday before the afternoon game
to finish the series off. Hopefully the
Mariners will be able to win the game
so they can go in a positive note into
Minnesota.
Paxton looked like he was going to have
a good game starting out but the injury
bug came his way again. Hard to know
how long he will be out but likely longer
than Fraley's. We hope Paxton won't
have to need surgery but we should
find out by game time. I will up date
you when I find out.
Who will the Mariners recall to replace
both players. Most likely a reliever for
Paxton as Nick Margevicius went into
the game for him in relief will take his
spot in the rotation at this time.
Margevicius didn't pitch well going
three and two-third innings giving
up four runs on four hits. He gave
up two home runs with a runner on
base in each case. I am tired of the
Mariners pitchers giving up home
runs. Many of their runs scored
are coming from the long ball.
The coaching needs to change.
Yes I know teams are hitting more
home runs these days because
that is what batters are looking
for but still no excuse.
Braden Bishop will be the likely
one to take Fraley's spot on the
roster as he is on the 40-man
roster and on the alternate
training site.
Yes it would be nice to see
Jarred Kelenic however he is
at the spring training site and
needs more reps at this point.
We could see him soon though
if the offense continues to spuder.
Is spuder a word I am using it
anyway.
Right now things not looking
good for the Mariners. Not only
do they need some offense help
the starting pitching certainly
took a blow with Paxton out
for some time it looks like.
We do hope he is able to
return this season but we
should know Wednesday.
We hope for the best not
only for the Mariners but
for Paxton too.
Justin Dunn goes for the
Mariners in Wednesday's
game. Right now is spot
in the rotation looks safe.
Go M's.
