Opening Day

Finally arrived the opening of major league
baseball today and that is no April fools joke.

The Seattle Mariners roster ended up with not
too many surprises. Drew Steckenrider made
the bullpen as a non-roster invitee. The bullpen
was made up of pitchers who were going to
make the roster anyway.

The starting pitching rotation was pretty set
as well. The starting position lineup was
set as well except left field where we came
with a surprise in which Taylor Trammell
one the spot. Most expected he would start
the season in triple-A Tacoma.

Ty France will start out as designated hitter
however he will see time at first base, second
and third. Over the season we will see where
he will end up in the future. One thing we are
pretty sure of he can hit.

The outfield we will see how Jake Fraley does
hitting as well. With Kyle Lewis on the injured
list we will see how Fraley does. I like the way
he plays baseball however we have to see him
prove he can hit major league pitching.

Sam Haggerty and Jose Marmolejos are the
utility players. Sam Haggerty will play all
over the infield well as the outfield while
Marmolejos can only play the outfield and
first base.

When Lewis returns one of three players
will have to be sent down unless someone
else is injured as well. Fraley, Trammell,
and Marmolejos will have to show what
they can do while hitting. Fraley and
Trammell we know can play defense.
They have the edge over Marmolejos.
