began a little after 4pm in Washington State
Levi Onwuzurike defensive tackle for the
Washington Huskies was drafted in the 9th
spot of the second round by the Detroit
Lions. Joe Tyron was taken as the last
pick of the first round by Tampa Bay.
Both players were drafted above the
two Huskies drafted last year.
Levi was the only player from Washington
in the second round. The 3rd round is taking
place tonight as well. Twenty picks have
been taken and no Huskies have been taken
so far.
The Seattle Seahawks drafted wide receiver
D'Wayne Eskridge out of Western Michigan
in the second round. He will be competing
for the third receiver as David Moore is no
longer a Seahawk. Eskridge isn't tall being
just under 5'9. He is considered a tough
receiver though. He can play the outside
so in the three receiver setup he could be
on the outside while Tyler Lockett could
play the slot. We will see during training
camp and pre-season games.
The Seahawks have no third round pick
and only two left in the draft at this point.
They have a 4th rounder and 7th rounder
in tomorrows draft day. General manager
John Schneider could add another pick
by sliding down from the 4th pick.
Let you know how things go tomorrow
before the Mariners play tomorrow night.
