Angles Dodgers late Wednesday
afternoon 2-2.
Logan Gilbert was outstanding
in this one giving up no runs on
two hits, two strike outs, no walks
in three innings. Emerson Hancock
went two innings giving up a hit,
two walks, two strike outs and no
runs. There is still three weeks
until the season begins so we will
see what materializes.
The Mariners hitter was outfielder
Alberto Rodriguez who hit a two-run
ho er in the top of the 9th putting
the Mariners up 2-1 unfortunately
the Dodgers tied in bottom of the 9th.
The Washington State Cougars won
the opening game of the Pac-12 tournament.
Not a big surprise since they played the
California Golden Bears winning 69-52.
This game really wasn't this close with
the Cougars leading the whole way.
The Cougars brought in their second
string early on in the second half only
leaving one starter on the court. Eventually
they had to bring the other starters back
on when California went on a ten points
run to narrow to eleven point lead.
The Cougars had five players score in
double figures led TJ Bamba with
17 points. Bamba has been very hot
lately and the reason Cougars have
done well lately. The Cougars take on
Oregon Ducks Thursday afternoon.
The Huskies lost to Colorado in the
game before the Cougars 74-68. Going
into the last couple minutes the game
was tied 66-66. Tells you how they did
after that.
Cole Bajema who had been struggling
since the UCLA game led the Huskies
with 16 points. Keion Brooks Jr had
14 points. Coach Mike Hopkins took
the blame for the loss and the season
which he should. Will we hear about
his dismissal soon I guess we will see.
If Hopkins is retained is that he has
$6 million buyout left on two seasons.
Though that is a lot of money he should
still leave town. The Huskies most likely
will have to find a replacement for Keion
Brooks Jr. They do have the duo of Keyon
Menifield and Koren Johnson returning
next season we hope anyway. They do
have a freshman recruit coming in but
not much else. Oh by the way thanks
Jamal Bey to your service though you
didn't live up to expectations though
you did show something in the last few
games besides mailing it in. Go Dawgs!
