first start, however he will give it a
shot on Wednesday. The Mariners
had Tuesday as a day off as far
as games go. I am sure some were
in the batting cage or throwing off
a mound.
Tuesday was the signing of Geno
Smith to a three year contract for
the Seahawks so for the media it
was the priority anyway. I know
there are fans who follow football
or the NFL only which I think is
a shame.
Now it is March so we have spring
training along with the WBC and then
there is conference tournaments and
then March Madness. The Washington
Huskies take on Colorado Wednesday
so either team could win the opening
round. The Washington State Cougars
take on California Golden Bears as well.
The Cougars should be favored in this one.
Gonzaga who was upset the first time
sort of beat St. Mary's 77-51 in the
West Coast tournament on Tuesday.
Drew Timme led with 18 points in
20 minutes of play. The Zags were up
18 points at halftime so the regulars
didn't play a lot in the second half.
I am sure everyone is looking forward
to March Madness. It would be nice
to see someone besides Gonzaga go
to the tournament but Huskies or
Cougars will need to win the Pac-12
tournament which is a lot to ask.
