Brooks came off the pup list. This
means he is going to start practicing
for the Seahawks.
This doesn't mean he will be playing
in the next two presentations games
either Saturday against the Dallas
Cowboys or the following week
against the Packers.
Brooks may not start the season
for the Seahawks however the
good news he should be available
sooner than later.
Even on his return Brooks will
gradually easy into his playing
time. The return of Bobby Wagner
certainly helps the Seahawks work
Brooks into action. When he is
ready he and Bobby Wagner will
start in the two inside linebackers
spots.
An easy way to ease Brooks in will
have him play when the team is
only going with one inside linebacker.
This will likely happen only in passing
downs. It isn't clear how often that
will happen anyway.
Bobby Wagner being a year older and
a year removed from the Seahawks we
have no idea how much playing time
he will do. I am sure his playing time
will be during those times for his strengths.
The same would be for Brooks to.
It is possible both will only play on running
plays have someone else on passing downs.
One thing for sure neither Brooks or Wagner
will play all defensive downs. I would say
to alternate both of them each time the
defense comes in. Both having the most
experience on defense. This would help
the Seahawks going into the fourth quarter
where both are refreshed and play in a
close game.
We look forward to seeing both Brooks
and Wagner playing at the same time
though it could be until six or seven games
into the season. The inside linebackers
spots are very important to the Seahawks
defense so having the best ones in at any
time is important to. Go Hawks!
