in the final game of the series on
Thursday afternoon 6-4.
The Royals made this game interesting
as well. The Mariners won the game because
Julio Rodriguez was five for five with five
rbi's. In the eight inning with the Royals
ahead 4-2 Julio hit a three-run homer to
put the Mariners ahead. Always seems Julio
has some part to play when the Mariners win.
Cal Raleigh hit a solo home run in the top of
the 9th to give the Mariners a little space to
make them have a little margin going into the
bottom of the 9th. Matt Brash pitched the
9th and gave up no hits and struck out one.
Brash and Munoz will be two great guys
if they are able to be both closers. Depending
how often are needed Brash may pitch the
8th and Munoz the 9th. Brash be used when
Munoz needs a day off.
Toronto had the day off so the Mariners are
now a half game behind the Blue Jays for the
last spot for the wild card spot. The Mariners
go to Houston to take on the Astros. If they
can take the series whether sweeping or two
out of three it will be a good sign. They finish
the road trip against the White Sox. They
could be dangerous like the Royal with nothing
to lose. I would still take the same outcome
even if the Mariners have trouble with them to.
Bryce Miller starts the opener on Friday night.
Miller will have to be careful since the Astros
have power and Miller has given up home
runs recently. Should be an entertaining series
with the Mariners winning hopefully. Go M's
