Mariners Win Late

The first half of the season it seem
like the Mariners were not winning
a lot of the games in the late innings.
It certainly seems have changed.
The Mariners pitching continues to do
what they have done all season keeping
them in games to have a chance to win.

The Mariners have now won 12 out of
their last 14 games which is the best in
the majors in that time period. Emerson
Hancock made his major league debut
for the Mariners going five innings.
He gave up one run in the first inning.
The Padres didn't even get a hit and
scored on a walk.and groundout.
Hancock went five innings.

The Mariners scored a run in the third
inning on a JP Crawford sacrifice fly.
The game stayed that way until the
bottom of the eighth when Cal Raleigh
hit a two run homer. It went 450 ft the
longest of his career. Cal leads the
Mariners with 19 home runs. It looks
like call will have more home runs in
first two full seasons a Mariners catcher
has ever had in his career. We may see the best home run catcher in Mariners
history.  The Mariners scored three
more runs in the eighth inning. Final
M's 6 Padres 4.

The Mariners have another day off
on Thursday then the Baltimore
Orioles come to town for the weekend
and the entrance of King Felix Hernandez
into the Mariners Hall of Fame.

Luis Castillo starts Friday night.We
will see he can rebound from his
last start. Luis has had an up.and down season. Go M's.
