Mariners Sweep.Angels

The Mariners did better than anyone
of us expected by sweeping the Angels. Not an easy task for sure and on the road.
Final.Mariners 3 Angels 2

The Mariners 3 Angels 2

So important to sweep since the Rangers
have won six in a row. The Mariners will
need to see what they can do this week
plus the following week. The Mariners
have Monday off then play San Diego
Padres Tuesday and Wednesday at home.
They have three against the Baltimore Orioles at home next weekend. Like
the M'S the Orioles have won eight
of their last ten games. It would be nice
to beat the Padres in both games and
take two out of three from the Orioles.
It won't be an easy task for sure.

The Mariners will need their starting
rotation continue going late into games
and have offense continue to step.up
whether they score four runs or more or
three runs or less. The key is to have
the hits when they count.

This game Sunday the Mariners won
in ten innings. JP Crawford got a lead
off home run in the first inning. The Angels
countered with a run in the bottom.of
the first. Neither team scored a run
until the  seventh inning. Both teams score
then. In the 10th with JP Crawford was
on second as the token runner. Julio
Rodriguez was walked intentionally.
Suarez came through with a hit to
score Crawford. Julio was called out
going into third with umpire calling him
out for taking his foot off the bag. The
Mariners asked for the replay but it wasn't
reversed. It looked like Julio's foot may
have been on the bag but not enough
evidence to reverse.

Lefty Tayler Saucedo pitched the last
two innings giving up no hits or runs.
He struck out three Angels including
the final batter of the game. Wow was
he fired up. Saucedo spent much of
his childhood in Tacoma and a Mariners
fan so quite a deal for him.

Logan Gilbert should start Tuesday's
game followed by Bryan Woo on
Wednesday. Friday's game against
the Orioles should be Luis Castillo
followed by George Kirby and  Bryce
Miller. The Mariners then will go to
Kansas City for four against the Royals
followed by the Astros in Houston. That
could be quite the series if the M's
continue doing what they have.

The next two weeks should be something
else. We see if the Mariners will make
another move. How the team has been
playing not many moves be made I expect.
