Mariners Make It Eight Straight

Before the Mariners played the White
Sox Tuesday night the Sox made changes
to the front office. They are going have
to make moves during the off-season.
Whether the Mariners will want to take
a player or two we will have to see.

The Mariners won 6-3 Tuesday night.
As expected Bryan Woo came off
the injured list. The Mariners made a
couple of other moves on the pitching
staff. Woo went four innings in his first
time back going four innings giving
up two hits and one run.

The Mariners used six relievers mostly with
success. The Mariners we hoping Gabe
Speier would close out the ninth but he
surrendered a couple hits so Andre Munoz
had to come in to get the last out. Actually
not a bad combination to close out a game
depending on the lead the Mariners. I
would do the same with Matt Brash. If
the Mariners can use Munoz to get one
out over a few games it would keep
him sharp and not over used. This would
depend how long much the bullpen is
being used. Since the Mariners are facing
teams that are not as good as they are
this is the way to go.

Josh Rojas continues to have a hot bat.
He had another home run with a runner
on base. In his last seven games he is
batting .321. He the answer next year
at second base.  He certainly wants to
be.

Mike Ford had a couple hits in the game
and drove in a run. Now hitting .250 in
his last seven games. Prior to.that he
only had one hit in 22 at bats. Not sure
he is the answer at dh in the long term.
When Jarred Kelenic returns I wouldn't
be surprised if Ford is released or sent
to Tacoma. Marlowe or Canzone can dh
against righties when not in the field.
Another question for the off-season
what the Mariners do in the outfield.
Go M's.
