Mariners Take It

The Mariners ended up losing Tuesday
night 6-4. The team had the opportunity
to get ahead in the first inning having the
bases loaded unfortunately didn't score
more than one run. Ty France had three
hits on the day however the one time
he didn't was in the first inning. He did drive in a run later but too late. They have
to get key hits when the opportunity
arises and for the Mariners doesn't
happened as often as it should. The
Red Sox won because they did take
advantage a couple times.

The Red Sox scored all their runs
in fourth through the sixth inning.
All off starter Bryce Miller which
included two home runs. Giving
up home runs has been Bryce
fortay lately. He lasted into the
sixth inning with two outs.

Trent Thornton who the Mariners
acquired on July 26 from the
Toronto Blue Jays made his Mariners
debut went two and one-third innings
giving up one hit and striking out
three hitters. A welcome to the
Mariners bullpen.Devin Sweet who
was brought up on July 19 pitched
the ninth. Both of the guys allowed
the team to have a chance to win
however late the Mariners offense
couldn't come through. Again all
comes down to getting the hits.

Eugenio Suarez was the hitter of the
game having two hits and three RBIs.
Had a two run homer to give the
Mariners four runs on the day.

The Mariners lost only seven games
in July however they could have won
at least two of the games. Tuesday's
game was in the same manner. Tired
of seeing this over again. The Mariners
have a day game Wednesday before
going to Anaheim on a four game series.
It would be nice to  take this game as
well as the one against the Angels.
Key series since both teams are ahead
of them for the playoffs. The Mariners
are in range to win the division to.
If they can have a win record like July
they have a really good shot.

The Mariners didn't make any more
moves on Tuesday except a minor league one. It is nice to know Wednesdays
starter Logan Gilbert wasn't dealt.
I am sure the Mariners tried too
make a deal but the other teams
might have asked for too much.
Teoscar Hernandez didn't play Tuesday
though he wasn't dealt. I wonder if
the Mariners will try to sign him
to a new deal before going free agent
on the off season.

Dominic Canzone made his Mariners
debut on Tuesday. He had one hit
and looked very comfortable in
right field too. Canzone can play first
base so we might see him there too.
Cade Marlowe continues to hit well
having two on the night.

Jose Rojas made his Mariners debut
to at second base.He didn't have a hit
on the night. The Mariners said good
bye to Kolten Wong earlier in the day
so Rojas and Jose Cabarrello look
to platoon at second base.

Andre Munoz looks like the main
guy to take over the closer role
with the departure of Paul Sewald.
We could see with Gabe Speier or
Taylor Saucedo pitch the 9th if
facing lefties in the 9th. Depending
how much Munoz is used we could
see Matt Bash too. The Mariners
have always like matching up so
likely it will depend on the opposing
teams lineup from seventh thru the
ninth on.how they are used. Go M's.
