Cougars Upset Utah Huskies Lose to Colorado In Men's Basketball

The Washington State Cougars  are
having a better season than expected
this time upsetting Utah at home 79-57.

The game was close in the first half
with the Cougars leading by three at
half time. In the second half they went
on a 20-2 run to break open the game.

All five starters were in double figures
in scoring. Isaac Jones led in scoring
with 17 points and in rebounding with
10. The difference in the game the
Cougars out rebounded Utah 40 to 29
and in free throws where Utah only made
three of seven shots while Cougars made
16 of 24. Not a good shooting at the
line however the attempts were good.
They have to play Colorado on Saturday
who beat the Huskies in Seattle 98-81.

The Huskies offense continues to do
well but as the score indicates they
need to improve on the defense.
Both teams shot well from the field
each going over 50% which means
Utah wasn't good on defense as well.
The Huskies are showing they can
score however they need to stop the
other team too.

The Huskies have been playing well at
home for the most part however they
have trouble stopping the other team
especially late in games. Colorado had
all five starters score in double figures.
The Huskies on the other hand had three
plus Braxton Meah had 11 off the bench.

The Huskies were led again by Keion
Brooks junior with 22 points. Moses
Wood had 13 points. He was only
Husky shooting well beyond the 3 point
line making 3 of 4. Huskies only made
two more 3 pointers though they shot
15 more times besides Woods four shots.

The Huskies will need to do is upset
Utah to at home on Saturday. Not an
easy task as Utah won't want to be
swept on the road. At this rate the
Huskies will be looking to come in
with a new coach next season. Again
they will have to go through the
transfer portal as most of the starters
will be done including leading scorer
Keion Brooks Jr. The Huskies needed
to make the NCAA tournament to
return for his final year of his contract
and want to go with a new contract.
His run has been disappointing lacking
good seasons after his first two when
he was named Pac-12 coach of the
year.

Gonzaga will be home tonight against
the San Francisco Dons. This will be
a good game since the Dons are having
a good season. We let you know how it
goes. Go Zags!
