The Zags best Pepperdine at home
86-20. Though the Zags had a few
losses during the non-league schedule
they should be favored to win the WCC
once again.
The Zags got off to a great start going
on a 15-2 run at the beginning of the game.
They led 55-27 at halftime and cruised
the rest of the way. The Zags hsd five
players score in double figures including
four starters. Forward Graham Ike led
with 20 points and had seven rebounds
to.
The difference in the game was from the
field where the Zags shot 56.1 per cent
making 32 of 57 while Pepperdine was
cold making 19 of 58. The Zags controlled
the boards having 32 defensive rebounds
to Pepperdine's 19. Gonzaga will take on
San Diego at home on Saturday. Go Zags!
The Washington State Cougars had to
come from behind to win. They were
down by three at half time however
outscored the Beavers by ten in second
half. Final WSU 65 Oregon State 58.
The Cougars were led by the the red
hot Oscar Cluff off with 20 points.
He made 8 of 11 on the field. He led
in rebounds with 8. Andrej Jakimovski
had 15 points all in the second half.
The Cougars take on Oregon on
Saturday at home. The Ducks are
undefeated beating the Huskies
76-74 in Seattle.
The Huskies are 0-3 now in conference
play as the Ducks are 3-0. The Huskies
led the first half by six points however
let the Ducks get even and ahead as
well. The Ducks scored under ten
seconds to win the game. Huskies Paul
Mulcahy had a good look to make
a 3 pointer to win the game however
he just missed it. The Ducks got the
rebound with just over a second to
seal the win.
The Huskies have played
well despite losing the first three games
in the Pac 12. They take on Oregon State
on Saturday at home. Need to string
several victories in a row. Go Dawgs!
