someday and it happened
where Seattle U beat the
Washington Huskies 79-70.
The Huskies had a 19 game
winning streak going into this
game. A surprise since the
Huskies had their best game
before over the Washington
State Cougars in the previous
game.
The Seattle Redhawks had a
a good first half while the
Huskies didn't out scoring
38-23. The Huskies did much
better in the second 47-41
but as you see not enough
to win.
Neither team did well shooting
3s. The difference was at the
foul line where Seattle made
29 of 32 while Huskies made
16 of 23. The Huskies still have
trouble shooting from the line.
A bit better would have made
the game more interesting.
The Huskies face NJIT on Sunday
at home. If you haven't heard of
NJIT neither have I. They have
only won two games so the Huskies
should be able to rebound in this
one. This will be the last one of
non-league schedule.
The Huskies begin the Big Ten
schedule on January 2 at home
against Maryland followed by Illinois on the 5th. The Huskies have losses against UCLA and USC already in
the conference ealier in December
so important to win these two games
or certainly one for sure.
The Huskies do have an 8-4 record
overall which is a good sign. The
Huskies had three player score in
double figures with Tyler Harris
leading with 20 points followed
by Great Osobor with 19. Osobor
led with 10 rebounds. These two
have had a good season so far
for the most part.
Freshman Zoom Diallo came off
the bench with 13. He has started
some games so be interesting
whether he will start again or come
off the bench still.
Mekhi Mason and DJ Davis had a
combined seven points while Tyree
Ihenacho had zero. These three
need to contribute more in the
scoring for Huskies to have a
successful season and make the
NCAA tournament.
Jase Butler had three points while
Christian King had eight points.
Wilhelm Breidenbach didn't play.
They hope to have Franck Kepnang
back in January. He is the heart
and soul of the team. This may mean
an eight to ten players rotation though
we will see. Go Dawgs!
