players to the transfer portal
beginning on Monday. Five
players were walkons. The
most notable was punter Jack
McCalister who is a five-year
player. It blows my mind that
five year players are still eligible
however not as much as six
and seven year players. That
comes down to covid and injuries.
The Huskies will need to find
a new punter.
The most notable player transferring
at this point is running back Cameron
Davis who had a good year in coach DeBoer'furst season. Injuries kept
him out in 2023. Davis was back last
year however since Jonah Coleman
will be the starter once again in 2025
he figured to go elsewhere. The trouble
is the depth if Coleman gets hurt.
The Huskies will lose Sam Adams II
at running back as well. His time at
Washington has been spent on
special teams. Players who stayed
over from DeBoer era and didn't
get a lot of playing time in 2024
can't blame them for moving on.
The Huskies have three edge rushers
who are moving on as well as two
offensive lineman at this point. The
Huskies are looking to rebuild the
offensive line that was a soar spot
in 2024. They do have offensive lineman Geirean Hatchett who
is returning after transferring to
Oklahoma last year. It will be
interesting to see who the Huskies
being in. The team will have some
depth issues during the bowl game.
The transfer portal will continue
to December 28. It will open up
again in April.
Washington State Cougars have
15 players who have gone into
the portal already. Two primary
names were running back Wayshawn
Parker and cornerback Eithan O'Connor. It is hard to know however
they could los quarterback John
Mateer. Stay tuned on both teams
regarding anymore transfers coming
and going.
