to Kentucky at the Climate Pledge
Arena in Seattle 90-89.
They blew a 16 point lead had at
half time and the game went into
overtime. Neither team shot well
beyond the 3-point line although
Kentucky made one more than
Gonzaga. The Bulldogs made two
more free throws than Kentucky.
Kentucky had four starters in
double figures however guard
Jaxson Robinson was the key
in the second half scoring 13
of his 18 points.
Graham Ike was the key for
Gonzaga having 28 points
and 11 rebounds. Ben Gregg was second coming off the bench
with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Ryan Nembhard had 13 points
with 10 assists. Khalif Battle
had 13 points too.
Gonzaga will go on the road to
play Connecticut in New York
on Saturday. It is nice they play
against big time programs. For
the Washington Huskies they
need to do the same thing to
grow up their men's team too.
The Huskies only big game the
rest of December is against the
Cougars on Wednesday December
18. They continue the Big Ten
schedule on January 2 at home
against Maryland followed by
Illinois on January 5. The Cougars
playing well so the Huskies beat
them will really help. I believe
the Huskies will improve over
the season. The same should be
for the Cougars. It would be a good
notch if all three Washington
schools made the NCAA tournament.
We wish them all the best.
